Operation Jericho: Sept. 11-17

We have now passed the tenth anniversary of the Twin Towers demolition.

When that event took place on Sept. 11, 2001, we took note that it was the awaited sign of the second war that I had seen in my vision in March of 1986. (See my book, The 1986 Vision of the Two Gulf Wars.)

Recall that the Twin Towers were destroyed precisely 3 years after President Clinton confessed his sin at the Congressional Prayer Breakfast in the East Wing of the White House on Sept. 11, 1998. At that time, he read Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” This was the fulfillment of the humbling of King Ahab in 1 Kings 21:29. Ahab’s humbling gave Israel a 3-year extension of mercy before judgment (war) began (1 Kings 22:1).

Neither King Ahab nor President Clinton actually repented, for if they had done so, it is likely that divine judgment would have been cancelled altogether. But even the fact that they humbled themselves gave both Israel and America a three-year extension of grace.

So the Twin Towers demolition was the point where God removed His hand of protection from America and began to bring judgment upon us. Most Americans did not understand this, of course, and so their natural reaction was to ask the military to protect them from God.

It was the same in biblical days when Isaiah prophesied to Israel then and to America today. Isaiah 30-32 says that when divine judgment comes, Israel was not to seek the protection of Egypt (Is. 30:2) but to repent of their sin. If they had repented, the Holy Spirit would have been poured out as a refreshing rain upon the land. Isaiah 30:25 says,

25 And on every lofty mountain and on every high hill there will be streams running with water on the day of the great slaughter when the (twin) towers fall.

The Hebrew language has both a plural and a dual form. Plurals can mean anything more than one. A dual means just two items. In Isaiah 30:25, the towers are a dual, meaning “two towers,” or TWIN TOWERS.

This is the modern sign given to America by Isaiah that runs parallel to the events in ancient Israel. His message was that Israel ought to repent and deal with God, rather than to look to Egypt to defend them from judgment. We read in Isaiah 31:1-3,

1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord… 3 Now the Egyptians are men and not God, and their horses are flesh and not spirit.

America has done the same thing. Instead of viewing the Twin Towers demolition as evidence of divine judgment, they sought a military solution that would protect their right to continue in sin.

Isaiah spoke also of the first beginnings of judgment when God raised up the Assyrians to destroy the nation of Israel and to deport the people into captivity. In Isaiah 9, the prophet first gives a message of hope. The solution is the coming of the Messiah, “for a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us” (9:6). Isaiah makes it clear that “the zeal of the Lord of Hosts will accomplish this” by His own sovereign will. Nonetheless, Israel was to be judged first for violating the Covenant and for their pride and arrogance (9:9) for asserting,

10 The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with smooth [“hewn”] stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.

It is astounding that the day after the Twin Towers fell, Senator Tom Daschle quoted this verse in the Joint Response of the Nation, saying,

“Nothing, nothing can replace the losses that have suffered. I know there is only the smallest measure of inspiration that can be taken from this devastation. But there is a passage in the Bible, from Isaiah, that I think speaks to all of us at times such as this:

The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees [sycamores] have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.’

“That is what we will do. We will rebuild and we will recover. The people of America stand strong together, because the people of America have always stood together. And those of us privileged to serve this great Nation will stand with you.”

Isaiah was speaking of Israel’s arrogance in speaking such words instead of repenting before God. Tom Daschle obviously knew nothing of Scripture, and his very ignorance caused him to connect Isaiah 9:10 to the Twin Towers sign of divine judgment.

In doing so, he expressed the same arrogance and lack of repentance that the leaders of Israel did so long ago.

On the third anniversary of the Twin Towers, Sept. 11, 2004, presidential hopeful John Edwards said in a speech,

“Good morning. Today on this day of remembrance and mourning we have the Lord’s word:

The bricks have fallen, but we will build—with dressed stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place… let me show you how we are building and putting cedars in those hallowed places, the Towers, the Pentagon, and the Field. Walk with me through this day, and you will see that while those bricks fell and the sycamores were cut down, our people are making those cedars rise…”

“Each time that bell tolls, it calls us to a greater purpose. It calls us to always remember that when we walk together this day that the cedars will rise and the stones will go up.”

The question is this: What is God’s reaction to such statements? The answer is found, strangely enough, in Isaiah 9:11, as if to mark the date of 9-11:

11 Therefore the Lord raises against them [the Israelites] adversaries from Rezin, and spurs their enemies on.

As with ancient Israel, because America has violated its covenant with God, He has removed His protecting hand from us and is now assisting our enemies, using them to bring judgment to this nation and cause us to repent.

The Sycamore and the Cedar

When the Twin Towers fell, one of the steel beams from the North Tower fell upon a sycamore tree on the property of the old chapel at Ground Zero. It was the chapel where George Washington led all the members of the new government in 1789 after adopting the new Constitution. They all went to this chapel and prayed for divine protection.

The chapel’s sycamore was cut down by a steel beam on 9-11. On Nov. 22, 2003 it was replaced by a cedar tree, even as Tom Daschle promised. They call it the “Tree of Hope.”

Likewise, on July 2, 2004, when the new “Freedom Tower” began to be built to replace the demolished towers, they ceremoniously placed a hewn stone foundation to replace the fallen “bricks.”

Neither the Tree of Hope nor the Freedom Tower are the real solution to the problem in America. We are manifesting the same pride and arrogance as was found in Israel in the days of Isaiah. We would rather rebuild than repent. We would rather strengthen our military might to protect ourselves from divine judgment than to obey God.

And so we must expect the same consequences of our rebellious hearts. Yet there is still hope, because we have prayed and interceded for many years for God to intervene directly and to cause us to repent. The carnality of our hearts in America (and in the Church itself) makes it virtually impossible for us to repent without some kind of direct divine intervention.

Paul says in Rom. 2:4 that “it is the goodness of God that leads you to repentance.”

Our Hope

Over the past 30 years, I have seen how God has raised up intercessors and spiritual warriors to call the Church to prayer and repentance. Divine judgment does not come upon a nation on account of the ungodly rulers or the non-Christian citizens. The requirement is clear in 2 Chron. 7:14, which says,

14 IF MY PEOPLE who are called by My name humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

It has NEVER been about the ungodly. The Church was crowned on the day of Pentecost, even as King Saul was crowned on the same day 1,082 years earlier. The coronation of the Church meant that its decrees, coming from the heart of the Church as a whole, would determine the events in the world at large. If the Church decreed righteousness, then the earth would proceed down the path toward the righteousness of the Kingdom. But if the Church decreed unrighteousness, then they would obtain that result in the earth.

This authority was given to the Church for 40 Jubilees, the time prophesied by Israel’s 40 years in the wilderness as well as Saul’s 40-year reign over Israel. The Church’s authority under Pentecost (i.e., Saul) ended on May 30, 1993 forty Jubilees after the coronation in Acts 2.

The transition from Saul to David took 7½ years (2 Sam. 5:5), and on Nov. 30, 2000 the new King (i.e., the overcomers) received the full authority of the crown to determine world events for the Tabernacles Age to come.

The prayer campaigns during the reign of “Saul” were not designed to succeed, for Saul’s kingdom was not to endure, nor was the anointing of Pentecost (the earnest of the Spirit) sufficient to bring righteousness to the earth.

Hence, the calls to prayer and repentance issued prior to 1993 went largely unheeded.

But then certain representatives of the overcomers were called into spiritual warfare from November of 1993 until October 7, 2006 to engage in a 13-year “Jericho march” in what was called the Jubilee Prayer Campaign. It was patterned after the battle of Jericho, where the Israelites marched around the city 13 times during 7 days.

There was no question as to who won this battle. The outcome was assured from the start. Even the fact that there were 490 prayer warriors signed up for this battle at the initial “call to arms,” shows that this number represented the whole body of overcomers. Most of them knew nothing of the prayer campaign in a conscious way, but their spirits were united under the headship of Christ.

The overcomers now determine the course of history, and world events will follow their lead, even as they are led by the Spirit of God. For this reason, the outcome is sure. America and many other nations will repent in due course, and the great Stone Kingdom of Daniel 2:35 will grow until it fills the whole earth, as prophesied.

Operation Jericho

When the Twin Towers fell on Sept. 11, 2001, it did not take us long to connect it to the prophecy in Isaiah 30:25. But it also linked to the next verse:

26 And the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, on the day the Lord binds up the fracture [breach] of His people and heals the bruise He has inflicted.

The Hebrew word for “moon” is yerach. It is the root word of the name Jericho. Jericho represents two things prophetically. In one sense, it represents Babylon, for the battle of Jericho is the pattern for the book of Revelation and its great harlot city, Mystery Babylon. Yet in another sense, Jericho represents the Church. The moon reflects the light of the sun, even as the Church is supposed to reflect the light (character and revelation) of God.

Isaiah’s prophecy, then, speaks of a great increase in the light that the moon reflects from the sun. This speaks of an increase in revelation and truth that will come upon the Church as a result of the Twin Towers falling.

Ten years ago we looked for this Jericho sign, but we saw little or nothing occur. We finally concluded that we may have to wait for ten years, according to the Hezekiah Factor.

Last year, a man named Jeff felt led to do a Jericho march around Minneapolis and St. Paul on the highway loop that encircles these cities. He was unable to organize this in 2010, but he succeeded in 2011.

This was called Operation Jericho. Its primary purpose was to tear down the walls of division (denominational walls) in the Church. It was about achieving Unity.

Hundreds of people walked, biked, rode cars, and even circled the cities in planes and helicopters during the seven days from Sept. 11-17, 2011. At the end of the seventh day of circling the cities, they met at the state capitol building in St. Paul to pray, blow 7 shofars, read the message to the Seven Churches in Rev. 2 and 3, prophesy in regard to the 7 churches, and then raise a shout to mark the fall of Jericho.

The shout began at 3:14 p.m. and ended at 3:18. Yes, of course I checked my watch! I found this to be of interest because 3.14 is the value of pi, which is in the equation needed to determine the circumference or diameter of a circle. The march around Jericho was essentially a circle.

Pi is also the 16th letter of the Greek alphabet. 16 is the biblical number for LOVE, without which it would be impossible to achieve any kind of unity.

As for the number 318, we find this number in Gen. 14:14 in regard to the freeing of Lot, Abram’s nephew.

14 And when Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he led out his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and went in pursuit as far as Dan.

In Isaiah 7:3 we find that 318 is the number associated with the Remnant. In that verse we read of Isaiah’s son named Shear-jashub. This name appears again in Isaiah 10:21, where it is translated “the remnant shall return.”

Shear means “the remnant.” The word jashub has a numeric value of 318. So one could read this as “The Remnant is 318.”

This Remnant number is also related to 999, which is the numeric value of “in the beginning, God” as seen in Genesis 1:1. If you draw a circle with a circumference of 999, its diameter is 318. (318 x pi = 999)

The connection with Gen. 1:1 also links this to the Twin Towers, because the numeric value of “in the beginning” is 911. That phrase carries the same numeric value as the Greek word charis, “grace.”

Thus, the Twin Towers demolition on 911 is meant to be an emergency call for grace. It is linked to the increase in the light of the moon (yerach) in Is. 30:26, which in turn speaks of the light of revelation in the Church.

Achieving unity is only possible with the repair of the breach (Is. 30:26) that has divided the people. In some way soon to be seen, God will use the Twin Towers disaster to repair this breach while giving light to the Church.

The Dividing Wall

The main organizer of Operation Jericho was the chaplain of Capitol Prayer Network, Cathy Jo Severson. She functions with a prophetic gifting. She prayed also that the dividing wall would be eradicated in order to create the “one new man” of Eph. 2:15.

As most of you know, this is also of concern to me. This dividing wall was a problem in the first century, and it has again been erected in the 20th century. In the first century, the dividing wall was found in the outer court of the temple in Jerusalem. There was a sign posted at the gate of this wall, which read:

“No Gentile may enter beyond the dividing wall into the court around the Holy Place; whoever is caught will be to blame for his subsequent death.”

The actual sign was discovered by M. Ganneau in 1871. Religious tradition had kept women and non-Jews farther away from God. There was no biblical command to build such a wall, but it formed a major blockage in the minds of men—including many Jewish Christians in the early Church.

Paul, on the other hand, fought for the rights of non-Jewish Christians to be equal citizens of the Kingdom. He wrote in Ephesians 2,

13 But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one, and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household.

Intentional or not, Christian Zionism has rebuilt this dividing wall by making Jews more chosen than other believers. It is often taught that Jews are chosen on account of their race, rather than on account of their faith in Jesus Christ. Others do not get to be “chosen” in any way apart from faith. Hence, Jews are given a special dispensation of privilege that is denied all others.

Such a view erects the same dividing wall in their minds. Worse yet, they support (and even finance) the building of “the third temple” in Jerusalem, in which a dividing wall is part of the planned construction.

Christians need to decide which temple they are identified with. Is it be the one in Hagar-Jerusalem (Gal. 4:25), or is it the temple Paul described in Ephesians 2 that is built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, having Jesus Christ as the chief Cornerstone? Paul identified with the temple that had no dividing wall.

For a more complete study on this, see my commentary, The Book of Galatians: Paul Corrects the Distorted Gospel.

Jezebel Cast Down

When the great shout was raised at the state capitol in St. Paul on Sept. 17, 2011, I saw the spirit of Jezebel cast down. The presence of Jezebel was part of the complaint against the Church of Thyatira, which I was assigned to represent at the ceremony.

In the Old Testament, Jezebel was the daughter of Ethbaal, the king-priest of Tyre. Ethbaal was a type of counterfeit Melchizedek. His daughter was the real power behind the throne of Ahab, king of Israel. Even as Israel had tolerated Jezebel in the fourth church of the Old Testament, so also had the fourth church of the New Testament (Thyatira) tolerated the spirit of Jezebel (Rev. 2:20). As representing the overcomers at 3:18 p.m., an estimated 318 people cast down Jezebel that day. It will be interesting to watch the results in the coming years.
