I received this request for prayer from Larren Smoot. Many of you know him or have met him at our various conferences over the years. This is what Larren wrote…
This morning during our time of worship I felt a gentle yet heavy tug from the Spirit telling me, we as a body need to pray for our brothers Esau, Ishmael and Cain. I pondered if this was just me and then a strange confirmation made it clear. After worship and before the sermon a sister came forward and asked for our church to pray for a young man in desperate need of a heart transplant. According to the doctors, Cameron only has a few months at best without this surgery. This was an unusual request as she asked the church to group up in families or whoever was near and pray for this situation. I took this as a call for our spiritual family to pray for the war we have entered to be lessened while still doing what Father needs it to achieve.
Several years ago Father asked me to bring a shoebox full of natural stone hearts to the conference without giving me much else to go on. These stones were picked up many years earlier while walking along the river beds in Washington state. I’d forgotten about them but was reminded of them just a day or so before heading to a conference in Branson, MS. The words “heart transplant” came to mind and I asked Father to confirm this was from Him by having someone share this word with me. Sure enough, during lunch, a friend mentioned her grandson had had a heart transplant. I was a little shocked and unprepared because I still didn’t know exactly what Father was asking me to do. In fact I didn’t get the Word until I started walking up to the front. Some may remember everyone reading out loud Ezekiel 36 and 37 to the four corners of the earth. Chapter 36 speaks of Father giving us a heart transplant where the stone heart is removed and replaced with one of flesh.
There are other confirmations I cannot share because of sensitivity and specific details from the sermon that would just be too lengthy to get into. They were overwhelmingly confirming the need for heart changes in high places NOW! First to pray for Cameron and his family but more importantly for our world and the crisis we find ourselves approaching.
I feel this has everything to do with the war that is escalating at warp speed in the Middle East but also our world as a whole. I’m all for seeing Babylon being crushed to powder and for there to be an end to all the chaos and destruction men have been created. I’m fine with seeing prophesies being fulfilled. Like everyone I have natural concerns for my family and frankly all humans everywhere. It sickens me to watch the deaths of innocent children at the hands of evil men. It angers me!
However, I am reminded of Abraham’s plea for mercy and grace for the cities of Sodom and Gomorra. I am also reminded of how Judah and Israel lost tens of thousands of men when they went to war with their brother Benjamin. They forgot to remove the plank from their own eyes first. They forgot to seek their own repentance. Worse, they didn’t really seek change from Benjamin. They demanded revenge. Let’s not be like Jonah and be angry when Father saves the wicked. Let’s seek their hearts being turned.
With American now physically joining in this fight I see grave consequences for our nation. The storm has just started. I know it’s unstoppable and frankly it’s necessary to clear the way for our Father’s kingdom. However, I believe we can still intercede and seek grace for those who would have a heart change. Even the most wicked needs a chance to find repentance and forgiveness. Remember, it’s not flesh that we war with. It’s the spiritual that drives the flesh of wicked men.
1. Repent! Seek forgiveness for ourselves, our families, our communities, our states and our nation. Our nation has mountains of sin and ongoing rebellion.
2. Forgive! If you have hatred in your heart for anyone then start there. Yes, that means hatred for Esau and the wolves in sheep’s clothing. It means political parties, criminals and even the perverts. Vengeance is not ours. Your job is to love them to Christ. Let Father do the dirty work. Righteous anger and hatred for sin is one thing but hating a lost brother is not what we have been called for.
3. Intercede. Please pray for a heart transplant for those whom Father wishes to give it to. Not everyone will get one on this side of the kingdom but it’s not to late to seek them for those whom Father wishes. Pray for Esau to repent. Pray for Benjamin to repent. Pray for our own leaders to repent and seek God. Pray for hearts of stone to be removed and Father to perform miracles where He wishes to do His will.
