I was able to finish the August FFI yesterday, and today we are sending it to the print shop. It is clear that this study in Lamentations is applicable to the present, as it shows from God’s perspective the reason for the coming destruction of Jerusalem.
The Knesset has voted 71-13 to annex the Palestinian West Bank. Although this is officially “non-binding,” it gives PM Netanyahu the right to annex it whenever he desires.
The Knesset approved a non-binding motion in favor of annexing the West Bank on Wednesday, a symbolic gesture that united the otherwise fractious right-wing governing coalition.
The resolution, which passed 71-13, declared that the West Bank is “an inseparable part of the Land of Israel, the historical, cultural and spiritual homeland of the Jewish people” and that “Israel has the natural, historical and legal right to all of the territories of the Land of Israel.”

This “right” to annex Palestine directly contradicts UN Resolution 181 from 1947 which partitioned the land with a two-state solution. So if they implement this annexation, it will destroy the very Resolution that created the Israeli state itself.
Prophecy is moving toward the final fulfillment, and only a few people know the true outcome, because (1) they assume that the Zionist state is the biblical Israel, and (2) they know nothing of the prophecies regarding Esau-Edom, (3) they have an Old Covenant perspective, and (4) they do not share Paul’s perspective in Galatians 4, where he gives God’s verdict: “Cast out the bondwoman,” that is, the earthly Jerusalem.
Perhaps more will be revealed on August 2/3 next week. The 9th of Av on the Hebrew calendar begins at sundown August 2 and ends at sundown August 3.
Tisha B’Av (Hebrew: תשעה באב or ט׳ באב, “the Ninth of Av,”) is an annual fast day in Judaism, named for the ninth day (Tisha) of the month of Av in the Hebrew calendar. The fast commemorates the destruction of both the First Temple and Second Temple in Jerusalem, which occurred about 655 years apart, but on the same Hebrew calendar date. Tisha B’Av is never observed on Shabbat. If the 9th of Av falls on a Saturday, the fast is postponed until the 10th of Av.

I find this date interesting, because we held a prayer campaign August 2/3, 1988 that postponed the Gulf War for 2 years. Then on the night of August 2, 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait, sparking the Gulf War some months later (Jan-Feb, 1991).
In 2025, these dates coincide with the 9th of Av, which, by the Hebrew calendar, marks the time when the first two temples were destroyed, first in 586 B.C. and then again in 70 A.D.
I have long wondered if the final act will begin with the Israeli destruction of the al-Aqsa mosque that now stands on the temple mount. I can’t read Netanyahu’s mind, of course, but I suspect he may be discussing the issue with his fellow war criminals. There is no doubt that the Zionists have already been preparing to remove the mosque and build “the third temple.” They do not share the New Testament belief that the third temple is the body of Christ (Ephesians 2:20-22; 1 Corinthians 3:16).
While Christian Zionists would hale the carnal, Old Covenant temple as a sign of Christ’s second coming and the establishment of a Jewish (Old Covenant) age to come, I see it as a sign of the coming destruction of Jerusalem as per Jeremiah 19:10, 11. Unfortunately, Christian Zionists think that the Zionist state is the restoration of Israel (Jeremiah 18:1-10), pictured as a jar of wet clay that is rebuilt. Jeremiah, however, tells us that the fate of Jerusalem and Judah is the old hardened jar (Jeremiah 19:1), which, when broken, “cannot be repaired again.”
Obviously, the 9th of Av occurs every year, as do all of the feasts. Nonetheless, every year we ought to watch for the fulfillment of prophetic events on certain key dates. Jesus said to be watchful. There is a chance that next weekend may prove eventful.
