Three threads of Zionist prophecy

To most of the world, this is how Christians picture their God. It is almost like they have applied Matthew 17:5 to Israeli PM Netanyahu: “This is My beloved son, with whom I am well-pleased.”

In our day Isaiah 52:5 is being fulfilled more than ever: “My name is continually blasphemed all day long.” I cannot be silent on this issue. Not when so many innocent women and children are being killed mercilessly. I am not moved by our Christian Zionist congress that refuses to call it genocide. If any other nation had done what the Zionist government is currently doing, they would be condemned by all—and rightly so. But because such atrocities are being done by Jews, their sins are said to be approved by God.

Christian Zionists have adopted the Old Covenant view of God’s nature, which appeared to justify genocide by the story of Israel’s conquest of Canaan. Secondly, they justify their approval of genocide on the basis of Bible prophecy, which they do not understand either. First, they think that the modern state called Israel is the same as the biblical state of Israel. They assume that the Jews are no longer Judah but are now Israel, just because they chose to call their state Israel.

I showed in my book, The Struggle for the Birthright, how the founding of the state of “Israel” is actually the fulfillment of three distinct threads of Bible prophecy.

Fruit, Not Leaves

There are three distinct threads of Bible prophecy that have been misunderstood by Christian Zionists. The first thread is the fulfillment of the cursed fig tree coming back to life, bringing forth “leaves” (Matthew 24:32). Christian Zionists seem to think that God is looking for fig leaves instead of fruit. They seem blind to the fact that the fig tree received Jesus’ curse precisely because “He found nothing on it except leaves only” (Matthew 21:19). Jesus was hungry and wanted fruit. Fig leaves have been a problem from the beginning (Genesis 3:7). Fig leaves represent self-justification for sin.

I remember as a child of the 1950’s how the Church taught me that the Israelis would convert to Christ and, in essence, bear fruit. That expectation was based on Jesus’ prophecy in Matthew 24:32. Somehow they all neglected to read the nature of Jesus’ curse: “No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you” (Matthew 21:19). In their blindness, they taught me to believe that Jesus was a false prophet! I thank God that He delivered me (1971) from such blasphemous teaching.

Edom, Not Israel

The second thread is almost totally unknown in the Church as a whole. In spite of all the prophecies about Esau-Edom in the end times, very few people have studied those prophecies. Very few connect the modern state of “Israel” to Jacob’s deception, when he lied to his father, claiming to be Esau, in order to obtain the blessing. Isaac was old and blind at the time (Genesis 27:1), making it easy for Jacob to steal Esau’s identity. Genesis 27:19 says,

¹⁹ Jacob said to his father, “I am Esau your firstborn; I have done as you told me. Get up, please, and eat of my game, that you may bless me.”

Jacob’s name means “deceiver,” and this was the primary moment where he fulfilled the prophecy inherent in his name. This was his sin that God had to unwind over the centuries. When Isaac discovered the truth, he too understood that God would have to fix the problem in accordance with His law. So in Genesis 27:40 KJV, Isaac told Esau, “When thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his [Jacob’s] yoke from off thy neck.”

Though Isaac gave Jacob the dominion through this blessing, he realized that at some point later the dominion would have to be given to Esau. For how long? Scripture does not say. It only records the prophecy which had to be fulfilled at some point in history. We know, of course, that in the end Jacob-Israel was to have the dominion, for this was prophesied before the twins were even born (Genesis 25:23). But it had to be done in a lawful manner.

The big lesson here is that one cannot force prophecy to be fulfilled by the arm of flesh, that is, in a lawless manner. It must be rooted in truth, not in lies.

For many centuries after this incident, Esau’s descendants, the Edomites, held a grudge against Jacob’s descendants, believing (correctly) that they had been defrauded. Their case against Jacob was registered in the divine court, but it took a long time for God to resolve the issue. Meanwhile, Edom (or Idumea in Greek) was conquered by Judah in 126 B.C. and given the choice of converting to Judaism or being expelled from their homeland. They chose to convert to Judaism, as the Jewish historian, Josephus, tells us (Antiquities of the Jews, XIII, ix, 1).

Thereafter, the only way prophecies of Edom could be fulfilled would have to come through the Edomite branch of Jewry.

God finally judged the case according to His own law, most notably in Exodus 21:24, “eye for eye,” meaning that the judgment must be in direct proportion to the crime. Because Jacob had taken advantage of his father’s blindness in order to obtain the blessing, God then blinded the church so that Esau-Edom would be able to obtain the blessing. It was a reverse deception.

Edom took the dominion in 1948 by deception. This was proven by the fact that they were able to take the name Israel, the birthright name. They took it from Jacob. More accurately, the prophetic representatives of Jacob gave it back to Esau, thus fulfilling Isaac’s prophecy. But Edom’s bloodthirsty nature remained unchanged (Ezekiel 35:6). The Israeli state succeeded because of the terrorist organizations headed by Menachem Begin and Yitzchak Shamir.

In other words, their bloodthirsty nature was evident from the beginning, and the church did not understand the law forbidding eating blood (Leviticus 17:12). Under the Old Covenant, this law was applied literally; under the New Covenant we see that it is being bloodthirsty.

From 1948 to the present time, Edom has oppressed the Palestinians, especially those living as refugees in Gaza. It was an open-air concentration camp. Finally, on October 7, 2023, Gaza erupted and fought back. Edom used this as an excuse to commit genocide and ethnic cleansing. At the present time, their stated plan is to move all Palestinians in Gaza to the southern city of Rafa (now destroyed by bombs), forming a classic concentration camp.

In my view, God gave Edom 76 years—the biblical number of cleansing—to prove themselves worthy or unworthy to hold the dominion and to call their state Israel. They have proven to be unworthy, and PM Netanyahu is the leader representing the bloodthirsty nature of Edom. Although Christian Zionists still consider him to be a demi-god, God Himself is not blind. The state itself is being prepared for destruction to fulfill Jeremiah 19:10, 11 and Isaiah 29:1-6.

Magog, Not Israelites

Ezekiel 38 and 39 speaks of an invasion of the mountains of Israel coming from Gog and Magog, as well as Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, and Beth-Togarmah (Ezekiel 38:2, 6). These are all related, as we see from Genesis 10:2, 3,

² The sons of Japheth were Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras. ³ The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz and Riphath, and Togarmah.

The Church assumes that this prophesies a Russian invasion of the Israeli state, not realizing that Russians themselves are not descended from any of these people above. There are two keys by which we may properly identify these invaders. The first is Ashkenaz, and the second is Togarmah.

When the Zionists conquered Palestine by immigration more than a century ago, it fulfilled Ezekiel’s prophecy. But because the Church was blind (like Isaac), they thought that this was the regathering of biblical Israelites. But in fact, it was the invasion of Ezekiel 38, 39, primarily of Eastern European Jews who are known as the Ashkenaz branch of world Jewry. This branch forms the bulk of world Jewry and also makes up about 85% of the population of “Israel.”

As for Togarmah, there is a letter from King Joseph of the Khazar Empire (now Ukraine), written to a Jewish doctor in Spain in the year 960 A.D. The doctor had heard of a Jewish kingdom in that area and wanted to know more about it. The Jewish Encyclopedia (under Chazars) tells the full story of how the Khazars converted to Judaism (about 740 A.D.).

King Joseph wrote that Togarmah had 10 sons and that they were descended from “Khazar, the seventh.” (See The Struggle for the Birthright, chapter 15 for details.)

This identifies who Togarmah is today. Of course, it is not Ukrainians per se, but it is the Russian Jews who immigrated to Palestine and conquered the land a century ago. Russia as a nation has nothing to do with this, as they only provided a springboard for a Zionist invasion.

Conclusion

These three threads of prophecy each point to different aspects of Zionism today, because the bulk of world Jewry consist of a combination of Judah, Edom, and Magog/Togarmah. The Judah thread is explained in Matthew 24:32 in the fig tree prophecy. The Edom thread provides the bloodthirsty nature of Zionism. The Magog/Togarmah thread explains the Zionist invasion whose motive is “to capture spoil and to seize plunder” (Ezekiel 38:12). In other words, they want to steal land and its resources.

In the end, however, the Zionist experiment will fail, because “Judah” has split into two branches, Christian and Jewish, and the Jewish branch, Paul says, is not the real Judah (Romans 2:28, 29). Secondly, though God recognized Edom’s case against Jacob, and though He ruled in Edom’s favor, in the end, Edom has proven itself unworthy and will soon be stripped of its dominion and even the name Israel. God allowed Edom to steal Israel’s identity, just as Jacob had stolen Esau-Edom’s identity in Genesis 27. Edom has thus received the justice that it was due, but because they abused the terms of the birthright, their claim will come to an end.

Finally, the invasion of the mountains of Israel will succeed at first but will end in disaster (Ezekiel 39:4).
