Jeremiah 19:10, 11 says,
10 Then you are to break the jar in the sight of the men who accompany you 11 and say to them, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Just so will I break this people and this city, even as one breaks a potter’s vessel, which cannot again be repaired’…”
Jerusalem has been destroyed many times, but it has always been repaired. Jeremiah's prophecy yet has a final fulfillment in the future.
Ariel is a poetic name for Jerusalem. Isaiah 29:2, 3, 6, gives Isaiah’s vision of this siege:
2 I [God] will bring distress to Ariel, and she will be a city of lamenting and mourning; and she will be like an Ariel [“altar-hearth,” a place of burning] to me. 3 I will camp against you encircling you, and I will set up siegeworks against you, and I will raise up battle towers against you…. 6 From the Lord of hosts you will be punished with thunder and earthquake and loud noise, with whirlwind and tempest and the flame of a consuming fire.
Most of the prophets will not see or understand this vision. Isaiah 29:10-12,
9 Be delayed and wait. Blind yourselves and be blind; they become drunk but not with wine, they stagger, but not with strong drink. 10 For the Lord has poured over you a spirit of deep sleep, He has shut the eyes of the prophets; and He has covered your heads, the seers. 11 The entire vision will be to you like the words of a sealed book, which when they give it to the one who is literate, saying, “Please read this,” he will say, “I cannot, for it is sealed.” 12 Then the book will be given to the one who is illiterate, saying, “Please read this.” And he will say, “I cannot read.”
Yes, this is a holy war, as the US government is now saying. But whose side is God taking in this? Can you read Isaiah’s vision? Is it a sealed book? Are you literate? Pray for revelation.
