Comment on Lev. 7:8

"Also the priest who presents any man's burnt offering, that priest shall have for himself the skin of the burnt offering which he has presented."

Our Burnt Offering is Jesus Christ. As priests of God in the Melchizedek Order, we get His "skin," that is, His glorified body. When Adam lost his glorified body through sin, God gave him a substitute, a fleshly skin to replace it (Gen. 3:21). It represented a mortal body.

The Hebrew word for "skin" in Lev. 7:8 and in Gen. 3:21 is OR (ORE), which in other languages is the word for "gold." This Hebrew word has a gematria of 276 (ayin = 70; vav = 6; resh = 200).

The gematria of "the flesh" in Greek is 6 x 276.

"All flesh" in Hebrew is 2 x 276.

In Acts 27:37 we find Paul on board a sinking ship with 276 souls aboard. All were saved (vs. 44), which is a picture of the restoration of all things.

Thus, the "skin" can represent either the mortal body or the immortal, glorified body that Jesus had after He was made a Burnt Offering for sin. When it speaks of the mortal body, it is linked with the flesh; when it speaks of the immortal body, it is linked with Christ's body.

The fact that ORE means "gold" in other languages illustrates the fact that gold represents the divine nature, which we will be clothed with. The Ark of the Covenant was wood overlaid with gold. Jesus is that Ark. His humanity is the wood. The gold is the divine nature.

According to the Book of Jasher, ch. 7:23-30, Adam passed his skin garments to Enoch, who later gave them to Methuselah. Methuselah died in the year of the flood, and they were given to Noah.

²⁷ And in their going out [of the ark], Ham stole those garments from Noah his father, and he took them and hid them from his brothers. ²⁸ And when Ham begat his firstborn Cush, he gave him the garments in secret, and they were with Cush many days. ²⁹ And Cush also concealed them from his sons and brothers, and when Cush had begotten Nimrod, he gave him those garments through his love for him, and Nimrod grew up, and when he was twenty years old he put on those garments. ³⁰ And Nimrod became strong when he put on the garments, and God gave him might and strength, and he was a mighty hunter in the earth, yea, he was a mighty hunter in the field, and he hunted the animals and he built altars, and he offered upon them the animals before the Lord.

Thus, these garments were the symbol of the birthright, by which men would know who was the legitimate ruler of the earth. Nimrod usurped this right to rule, and built his own kingdom of Babylon by which he enslaved men.

It was the beginning of the world system that was in direct competition with the Kingdom of God ruled by Shem. Shem then went to Canaan and built the city of Salem (i.e., Jerusalem). He ruled under the title of the king-priest, Melchizedek. (See Jasher 16:11)

This is the origin of the two kingdoms, the two cities: Babylon and Jerusalem. They are relevant today in their successors: Mystery Babylon and the New Jerusalem.

In Jasher 27 we find Esau killing Nimrod while on a hunt. Esau then stole Nimrod's garments, the skins given to Adam.

¹⁰ And when Esau the mighty men of Nimrod coming at a distance, he fled and thereby escaped; and Esau took the valuable garments of Nimrod, which Nimrod's father had bequeathed to Nimrod and with which Nimrod prevailed over the whole land, and he ran and concealed them in his house. ¹¹ And Esau took those garments and ran into the city on account of Nimrod's men, and he came unto his father's house wearied and exhausted from fight, and he was ready to die through grief when he approached his brother Jacob and sat before him. ¹² And he said unto his brother Jacob, behold I shall die this day, and wherefore then do I want the birthright? And Jacob acted wisely with Esau in this matter, and Esau sold his birthright to Jacob, for it was so brought about by the Lord.

We know Esau despised his birthright, but in Jasher we find out why. He had just stolen Adam’s garments from Nimrod. As a carnally minded man, he had every reason to believe that he would now be strengthened like Nimrod and would inherit the earth with or without the legitimate birthright that Isaac had to offer. In fact, he had more faith In those skins than in his true birthright.

The symbol of the carnal birthright is gold, by which Babylon rules today. This is the nature of their “skin,” and so they deck themselves with gold (rev 17:4). They do not recognize that God owns all the gold by right of creation (Hag 2:8). The true birthright is the glorified body, by which the Melchizedek Order will rule under the Authority of Jesus Christ, the rightful Heir. In the recent destruction of New OR-leans, we see a picture of Babylon, the golden city, which is soon to fall. At the same time, we are seeing the establishment of the Kingdom of God, ruled by the Melchizedek Order.
