The Zionists were given the Debt Note in 1948. Edom became "chosen," and they became responsible before God to bring forth the fruits of the Kingdom. The Edomites were Zionists from the beginning, in the sense that they always wanted the birthright that Jacob had stolen from Esau. They never lost the hope that they would some day be able to inherit the "Holy Land" and be the chosen people.
When Israel and Judah were deported to Assyria and Babylon, Ezekiel tells us the reaction of Edom in Ezekiel 35:10, saying,
10 Because you [Edom] have said, These two nations and these two lands will be mine, and we will possess them.... 15 As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you. You will be a desolation, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
Ezekiel 36:2 and 5 continues the prophecy, saying,
2 Thus says the Lord God, Because the enemy has spoken against you, Aha! and, The everlasting heights have become our possession.... 5 Therefore, thus says the Lord God, Surely in the fire of My jealousy I have spoken against the rest of the nations, against all Edom, who appropriated My land for themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and with scorn of soul, to drive it out for a prey.
Malachi 1:4 says,
Though Edom says, We have been beaten down, but WE WILL RETURN and build up the ruins; thus says the Lord of hosts, They may build, but I will tear down; and men will call them the wicked territory, and the people toward whom the Lord is indignant forever.
This clearly shows the Zionist aspirations of Edom. Edom has indeed returned to "build up the ruins." God has allowed it, but not permanently. God intends only to right the old wrong that Jacob did. Esau must be given the opportunity to prove himself unworthy. Esau wanted the birthright for selfish motives--not to bestow any blessings of Abraham upon the rest of the world. It is all a matter of self-interest.
So the question is this: How long do the Israelis have to pay the Debt Note before God brings them into judgment? That is a difficult question to answer, but there are a few things that can help us understand the issue.
In John 2:20 we learn that it took 46 years to build Herod's temple. The number 46 is thus directly associated with Herod's temple. That temple was beautiful on the outside, but inside its Most Holy Place was NO ARK OF THE COVENANT and thus NO GLORY OF GOD. Because we are the temples of God (1 Cor. 3:16), we must ask ourselves if our "temple" is patterned after Solomon or Herod. Solomon's temple was glorified, but Herod's was not.
Our bodies are defined by chromosomes. We each have 23 pairs of chromosomes, or 46 in all. (I believe that when we are transformed into His Image, we will have 50 chromosomes--the Jubilee number.) Thus, nature teaches us that our fleshly temples are defined by the number 46. Incidentally, the Greek word for "temple" is NAOS, which appears exactly 46 times in the New Testament. The Zionists are temples also--but they are patterned after Herod's temple. Herod was half Edomite and half Judahite. He is the perfect pattern of the Israeli state today.
The first major time cycle signaling the end of the Israeli state came on Nov. 29, 1993. This was precisely 46 years after the United Nations Resolution that partitioned Palestine, creating the basis of an Israeli state. On this date, representatives of the overcomers were led to petition the Divine Court to be given the Debt Note. It was called "The Jubilee Prayer Campaign."
This was done purely by divine revelation, based upon our knowledge of timing. I believe that our prayer was answered, and a measure of authority was given at that time. But the full authority would not come for another seven years (Nov. 29, 2000). And then it would take another seven years to pour out the seven bowls ("vials") in order to complete the work of divine judgment. But we are getting ahead of ourselves.
In Luke 3, John the Baptist said something applicable in his time, but applicable again in our day:
7 He therefore began saying to the multitudes who were going out to be baptized by him, You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bring forth fruits in keeping with repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, We have Abraham for our father, for I say to you that God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham. 9 And also the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
John apparently understood that judgment was going to come upon that nation, regardless of any genealogical connection with Abraham. Jesus spoke a follow-up parable three years later in Luke 13:6-9, saying,
And He began telling this parable: A certain man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it, and did not find any. And he said to the vineyard-keeper, Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground? And he answered and said to him, Let it alone, sir, for this year, too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer; and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.
I believe that the Israeli state was given one Jubilee in which to bring forth the fruits of the Kingdom and pay the Debt Note. If we date their earliest beginning from the Palestinian Resolution (Nov. 29, 1947), fifty years later comes to Nov. 29, 1997. They were then "visited" to see if they would give God the fruits that they owe Him.
For three years they were visited (1997-2000), but they still did not repent as John the Baptist said. So the decree went forth to cut this fig tree to the ground. But the people asked for another year of grace and were granted this.
That year of grace was the time to fertilize ("dung") the tree. This dunging began on Sept. 29, 2000 when Ariel Sharon "visited" the temple mount, sparking the intifada. At this point, the Palestinians began to "dung" the fig tree to see if the Zionists would use the dung as fertilizer or simply throw it back at them (with bullets). To understand this principle, see my book, "The Laws of Wormwood and Dung."
After a year of dunging, the tree still did not bring forth any fruit. The Zionists did not accept Jesus Christ, nor did they manifest the fruits of the Spirit toward the Palestinians. Thus, we came to Sept. 11, 2001, and the Persian "bear" was released, whose job it is to destroy Jerusalem. (See my weblog series: "The Big Prophetic Picture.")
