David Postman, writing an article for the Seattle Times, is now reporting that Newt Gingrich believes that World War III has started and that President Bush should go to Congress and "connect the dots" for the American public.
In my view, World War III began on Sept. 11, 2001. Military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq have been only the first skirmishes of World War III. Ultimately, as I have been saying for the past 25 years, the central figure in this war will be Iran.
Iran is ancient Persia, which is the primary nation that brought about the fall of Babylon. I believe that modern "Babylon" will again fall shortly, and it will come largely at the hands of Iran. I have taught this since 1981. In 1986 I had a spiritual experience where I was shown two Gulf Wars, pictured as "bears." I saw the first "bear" released on August 2-3, 1989, and so the first Gulf War began one year later when Iraq attacked Kuwait on August 2-3, 1990.
The second "bear" was released on Sept. 11, 2001. As I have written in past weblogs some months ago, this key date was shown to us three years earlier on Sept. 11, 1998, when President Clinton "turned the East Room of the White House into a confession booth," as Tom Brokaw reported.
We had been waiting for that day ever since President Clinton came into office, knowing that he was a type of King Ahab in Scripture. According to 1 Kings 22:1, King Ahab's "humbling" gave Israel three years of grace before the judgment of God was implemented through war with Syria.
So also was it with America insofar as divine judgment is concerned. President Clinton's "confession booth" experience on Sept. 11, 1998 gave America another three years of grace before we were plunged into war on Sept. 11, 2001.
These are matters of public record. Thus, I have believed since 2001 that World War III has already technically begun with the release of this second "bear" seen in my vision of 1986. If you cannot find this on my web logs, I do have a small booklet available entitled, "The 1986 Vision of the Two Gulf Wars." ($1.50 each) If you want a copy, you can write or email me.
It may not yet be posted on the book list, but if you email me, I will be happy to send you a free copy. Be sure to include an address to send it. And don't worry, I won't put you on my mailing list without your request, nor sell it to anyone else.
In recent months, I have been seeing a five-year pattern emerging. We were engaged in serious spiritual warfare in 2001, and many of these spiritual events are now being manifested in the world. Things always happen in the spirit before they manifest in the world. These recent manifestations are according to the law of fruit-bearing trees in Lev. 19:23-25.
For instance, the New Gideon's Army was actually formed in 2001, but only in 2006 have we seen this materialize in the world. You who are volunteers in this Army have been engaged in spiritual warfare since 2001, but did not understand why or how until you began to read about it in 2006.
That is what happened to me 25 years ago. When I entered the battle in 1981, I knew that I was in spiritual warfare, but had no idea what was going on until a year later when I actually met the ones who had organized the army. Only then did I learn that the battle began on Nov. 12, 1981--the same day that my life was turned upside down, and I said to my wife, "We must be in some sort of spiritual battle."
That was my introduction to spiritual warfare. Now it's your turn. I may never meet you in person, but we are all part of the same warfare. It is a warfare to overthrow "Babylon" and to establish the Kingdom of Jesus Christ in its place. We are not here merely to "defend America," but to remove the spiritual causes whereby God is bringing judgment upon America (and all nations).
The cause is simple. We have violated the covenant that our founders made with Jesus Christ in the 1600's. They foretold that this day of judgment would come, if we forsook God. They were right, because they knew the patterns of Scripture in the history of Israel.
Our divine strategy is to cause America to repent, so that we can truly receive the blessing of God. At the same time we have been called to intercede in order to lessen the need for judgment. The warfare in 2001 was a direct battle with the spiritual forces of Babylon, but it was also an intercession to lessen the judgment so that we would not be destroyed.
On July 11, 2001 the spiritual warfare widened from a personal attack upon the (conscious) members of the New Gideon's Army to a world-wide attack that focused upon America. I wrote in my notes on that day, "America Attacked." Thus, according to the 1981 revelation that "July is like September," we took note to watch Sept. 11, 2001, which was also three years after President Clinton's "confession booth" repentance.
Now, five years later, on July 12, 2006, Lebanese Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers. Israeli Prime Minister Olmert called it "an act of war," as if their own invasion and occupation of Lebanon was somehow exempt as "an act of war."
Yet Olmert was right in a broader sense. And Newt Gingrich is now calling it "World War III." Yes, of course. But when we walk in the light, these things do not overtake us as a thief (1 Thess. 5:4). That is, they do not take us by surprise. God has given us plenty of warning ahead of time, so that we are able to do something about it and actually make a difference.
Spiritual warfare on this level alters world history. Because of America's rejection of Jesus Christ and His law, we have come under divine judgment, and He has removed His hand of protection from us. The law would potentially destroy us, except that this is not in the divine plan. Hence, He calls people into spiritual warfare and intercession in order to implement the divine plan of mercy and grace. The plan is to allow a certain level of judgment for sin, then to open the eyes of His people, and bring an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, causing the people to repent. In this way, the worst of the judgment will be averted, and our nation will fulfill its divine destiny as revealed to our founders.
On March 8, 2006 the Iranians threatened us with "pain" if we manipulated the U.N. into sanctions. The Israeli defense minister responded, "If the U.S. won't act, then we will."
That, of course, was a blackmail statement. America has little choice but to act in order to prevent the Israelis from doing so--which could only end with a nuclear exchange. So plans were drawn up to pick a fight with Iran using their proxy troops, Hezbollah. World War One proved that small incidents can spiral quickly into a full-scale war. This current incident involving two Israeli soldiers is no different. It seems insane that two soldiers would be worth a nuclear exchange, but that is the pattern of history, especially when one is looking for an excuse for war.
If past wars are any indication of the present, we will probably see an American aircraft carrier sunk in the Persian Gulf. Iran will be blamed, because no one would believe that we or the Israelis would do it to ourselves. We always doubt small lies and readily believe the big ones. This kind of incident could well put the spark to the tinder box.
Because of the upcoming elections in America in November, I believe that the political climate demands that such a war come sooner rather than later. The democracts have been too successful in showing the Iraq war as a failure. The republicans need a successful war to rally their sagging prospects. Thus, there is no serious reason for President Bush to drag his feet.
It appears to me that we really are on the brink of earth-changing events.
