This morning as I awoke, the Lord spoke to tell me that the New Gideon's Army is to conduct a prayer campaign on October 10. At the present time, I know nothing further, but I thought you should know right away, so that you may begin to prepare.
For those of you who are new readers and do not know about the New Gideon's Army, please go back to the web logs last June. You may see how this spiritual army developed, and the teaching that preceded it. Read the series on "Intercession for America" beginning on June 9. Our first online prayer campaign was dated June 15 called "God is Able." A second one was held on June 28.
October 10 is in the middle of the feast of Tabernacles this year. I have done much teaching on this feast and have noted that in John 7 we have the only biblical account where Jesus actually observed this feast. It is prophetic of His second coming, and, of course, we read in verse 14 that He actually came to the temple in the middle of that feast.
He will not be coming at Tabernacles this year, at least not in the classic sense, but every year we keep our eyes open at these feasts, because God always has some revelation for us that teaches us something new about the meaning of the feasts. This year, Tabernacles extends from October 7-14, and the 10th is the fourth day of Tabernacles.
The year 2006 is also a very important year, because it is the time of the seventh vial (bowl) to poured out upon Babylon (Rev. 16). So when I see President Bush planning to send a fleet of ships to the Persian Gulf in October of 2006, I sit up and take notice. We have been waiting and watching for October of 2006 for the past seven years.
For those of you who are recent readers, let me give you a short outline of these things. The two biblical patterns for the Pentecostal Age are: (1) Israel in the wilderness for 40 years; and (2) the reign of King Saul for 40 years, since Saul was crowned on the day of wheat harvest (i.e., Pentecost)--see 1 Sam. 12:17.
In actual prophecy, this 40-year period has manifested on three levels:
(1) 40 years from Jesus' ministry (30-33 A.D.) to the downfall of Jerusalem (70 A.D.) and Masada (73 A.D.).
(2) 40 rest year cycles (40 x 7 = 280 years) from 30/33 to 310/313 A.D. It ended with Constantine's conquest of the Roman Empire (309/310) and the Edict of Toleration (or Edict of Milan) in 313 A.D., which put an end to the persecution of the Church.
(3) 40 Jubilees (40 x 49 = 1,960 years) to 1990-1993. On Pentecost Sunday, May 30, 1993 we saw the prophetic signs indicating the death of Saul and the beginning of the end of the Pentecostal Age. I do not follow signs; signs follow.
The death of "Saul" began a transition of seven years and six months from the reign of Saul to David (2 Sam. 5:5) that ended on Nov. 30, 2000. Of course, in those days we had no idea how this would actually be fulfilled in the people of "David." We could only wait and see.
Meanwhile, though, in late November of 1993 the Lord turned our attention to Babylon itself, and we held the Jubilee Prayer Campaign from Nov. 21-29, 1993. God revealed that this was to be reckoned as a "Battle of Jericho," not for a mere seven days, but for seven YEARS. So we settled in for the long haul, taking note that seven years later was Nov. 29, 2000, while the seven year and six month transition from "Saul" to "David" ended the next day, Nov. 30, 2000.
The Father confirmed everything with signs following. For example, on the final day of the Jubilee Prayer Campaign in 1993, immediately after making the declaration, we looked out the window and saw hail, followed by snow. This was very unusual, for we were living in the Seattle area at the time, where it seldom snows and almost never hails. But Job 38:22, 23 says,
" (22) Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, (23) which I have reserved for the time of distress, for the day of war and battle?"
More significant, however, was our discernment that we would see a sign of the fall of Babylon 414 days later--the factor of "Cursed Time" (See my book, Secrets of Time.) Thus, we marked January 17, 1995 on our calendars as a Watch Date. When the Los Angeles quake occurred on January 17, 1994 (precisely a year before our Watch Date), we were just a bit confused, because we would have expected a great earthquake in 1995. After all, Babylon is said to fall with a great earthquake in Rev. 16:18, along with "hail" in verse 21.
So a year later, as we came near to January 17, 1995, the brethren discerned that we could see an earthquake strike Seattle on our Watch Date. Well, it did not happen. It hit Kobe, Japan instead. That really confused us, until we learned in the aftermath that Kobe was Seattle's "Sister City." Spiritual signs are helpful, but they can be confusing as well, because we do not know all the facts needed to interpret them.
Later, we heard on the news that "Kobe" means "God's Door." Only then did we learn that "Babylon," or Bab-ili in the original Sanscrit language, meant "God's Gate" or "God's Door." In other words, Kobeis Japanese for Babylon. Thus, the great earthquake in Kobe, Japan was a sign of the fall of Babylon, occurring precisely 414 days after our Jubilee Prayer Campaign ended (Nov. 29, 1993 to January 17, 1995).
This is a good example of HOW to watch signs, knowing that our knowledge is limited, and so it is very easy to misunderstand and misinterpret them. God does not tell us everything. He does not spell it out for us clearly any more than He did with the biblical writers. I have found that He seldom tells us something that we ought to know by our own study. Revelation is no substitute for study. It is more of a supplement to what we are expected to know or learn. And God seems to love progressive revelation, so that we learn to live moment by moment and to grow with each experience.
In 1999 we discovered that our Battle of Jericho would take longer than just seven years. This was a bit of a disappointment to us, of course, but we learned to live with it. Joshua marched around Jericho once a day for six days, which in our case meant six YEARS (1993-1999). On the seventh day, Joshua marched around Jericho seven times. The Father showed us that we would have to continue our "march" for another seven years (1999-2006).
Even as Joshua make 13 trips around Jericho in Joshua 6, so also would we have to engage in spiritual warfare against Babylon for 13 YEARS (1993-2006).
Meanwhile, however, on November 29 and 30 of the year 2000, we received the revelation and saw the signs following that the Davidic company of overcomers had come into its full level of authority. This ran parallel to the day that David was crowned king over ALL ISRAEL, and not merely over a single tribe (Judah).
Technically, David was crowned at the feast of Tabernacles and then conquered Jebus a month later, renaming it "Jerusalem" (2 Sam. 5:7). Thus, he reigned seven years and six months in HEBRON, before moving to Jerusalem. That is why Nov. 30, 2000 marked the time of the conquest of Jerusalem, rather than the crowning of David. See the wording in 2 Sam. 5:5.
Anyway, since that time, God has been teaching us how to utilize that authority. Frankly, though many of us have been trained for many years, we still did not really know what to do or how to do it. It is not a good idea to use authority ignorantly. But God began to upgrade our ability to hear His voice and to know His will, beginning in late January 2001. And this led to the great spiritual battles in 2001. To be continued.
