There are at least two credible theories about what is going on. First, there is the "new world order" or the "new economic order" that top bankers have been pushing for a long time. Secondly, there is the breakdown of the "new economic order" that is happening. Both, I think, are taking place at the same time. The real question is . . .
Which will win out?
My viewpoint is based largely on the things that I see God doing, and from that perspective, I think we are seeing the breakdown taking place.
In Professor Carroll Quigley's book, Tragedy and Hope, he speaks of the New World Order that he was privileged to examine from the inside. Quigley was, of course, Bill Clinton's professor, and his book was very revealing. Unfortunately, it was too long for any but the most serious to read. He wrote the book to promote this New World Order. The organizers were too hidden, he thought. He wanted to publicize it as a good thing, and in so doing, he confirmed many things that are often relegated to the "conspiracy theory" trash bin.
On page 324, he writes something of great importance:
“…nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. The system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert by secret agreements arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences. The apex of the system was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basil, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank . . .sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world.”
Take note first that the central banks of each nation are PRIVATELY OWNED. Second, each one is "able to dominate the political system of each country" and seeks "to dominate its government." The overall purpose is to re-establish a "feudalist" world like we saw in the Middle Ages, with kings and lords supported by working peasants. In short, the goal is to privatize government.
In essence, this New World Order is nothing but the Old World Order re-established after it was overthrown in recent centuries. The primary difference is that the old kings are being replaced with bankers. It is no longer based primarily on the military, but upon a financial system that allows them to dominate governments.
The Federal Reserve Bank in America has attempted to shed itself of the title "Central Bank," but all bankers know that it is indeed a Central Bank. Quigley tells us that ALL of them are private banks. They seek to gain control over governments, not to replace them, but to place themselves in positions of authority over them.
This way, they become the real power brokers of all nations, controlling the financial system of the world. Their "experts" take huge pay cuts to become Treasury Secretary, in order that this banking system always has one of its own in the government to execute the plans of their real bosses. Thus, we elect presidents as an exercise to give the impression of democracy, but in fact we are in a feudal system ruled by secret kings and lords of finance.
This is what the Bible calls "Mystery Babylon." My interest in this subject is governed by my desire to know Scripture and to understand how prophecy is being fulfilled. It is necessary to understand this in order to know how and when it will fall, as the Bible predicts so graphically in Rev. 17-19.
I believe that the kings of Babylon today are trying to use the financial crisis--and may have actually started it purposely--in order to consolidate power into their own hands. This is being done by the greatest transfer of wealth in history, called "bailouts." But it is based upon greed for money and power, and greed inevitably goes too far. Their power is based upon debt, because the borrower is the servant of the lender. But at some point the debt exceeds the ability to pay. That is the point when it begins to break down.
They are hoping that the peasants will simply sell themselves to the bank, and they will be content to live as a slave forever--enforced, if necessary by the military or police force. The banks will be holding toxic mortgages, so named because no one can pay the mortgages on them. It has created a huge homeless population, even while houses stand empty and unsold. Essentially, the banks own the property, and if the people want to live, they will have to recognize their new masters and "rent" housing from them.
I have no doubt that this is the plan, at least in the minds of the kings at the top. But I also have no doubt that the plan will backfire and fail, because there are too many variables. They are counting on the military and the police to enforce their decrees. They are counting on the people to continue in immorality in order to ensure that God will not help us.
But they are not counting on divine intervention, an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that will cause the people to repent. That is the purpose of our work and the outcome of our spiritual warfare since 1993. I believe that this has been accomplished, and for this reason we are in the final act of the showdown between Mystery Babylon and the New Jerusalem.
We have already won the battle in the heavens, and it is only a matter of time before this victory manifests itself in the earth. But the victory will not manifest in the world until the people repent, because this New World Order is not going to go away until the people repent of their lawless ways. The only reason victory is assured is because repentance is assured. It was assured back in 2001 when God tricked everyone into praying "God Bless America" after the Twin Towers demolition. He will indeed "bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways" (Acts 3:26, NASB).
