Last week I expected to find the beast systems in non-compliance with the Kingdom decree as soon as it came into force on October 16. However, I was surprised to find that they were in compliance—or at least God was not yet ready to prosecute them for non-compliance.
Yesterday I awoke with the realization that the beast representatives had indeed agreed to step down. At the same time I doubted that they actually would do so in the final analysis, because if they did, they would be able to keep the wealth that they had accumulated during the time of their power. The divine pattern of the past shows that these ungodly power brokers are always overcome by greed, searching for ways to remain in power. Because they submit to God’s decrees unwillingly, it is not possible for them to comply apart from some divine law enforcement.
So we see in the original pattern in the fall of Babylon, Jeremiah 50:29-34 prophesies first of Babylon’s arrogance and refusal to let the people go, and then shows God’s intervention to deliver the people.
29 Summon many against Babylon … for she has become arrogant against the Lord… 31 “Behold, I am against you, O arrogant one,” declares the Lord God of hosts, “for your day has come, the time when I shall punish you.” … 33 Thus says the Lord of hosts, “The sons of Israel are oppressed, and the sons of Judah as well; and all who took them captive have held them fast, they have refused to let them go.”
Ancient Babylon ought to have set Judah free after 70 years, for that was the decree of the divine court in the days of Jeremiah. However, they refused, and so God raised up the Medes and Persians to enforce the decree. Today we are in the same situation, except that the captivity includes both Israel and Judah, as verse 33 tells us above. This tells us that the verse applied also to Mystery Babylon in our time, where both Judah and Israel and most of the world have been oppressed.
Hence, the divine intervention prophesied in Jeremiah 50:34 applies today,
34 Their Redeemer is strong, the name of the Lord of hosts is His name; He will vigorously plead their case, so that He may bring rest to the earth, but turmoil to the inhabitants of Babylon.
Because of this prophecy and others that reveal the mind of God, I believe that modern Babylon will be found in non-compliance at some point, so that God may have occasion against these oppressors. The result will be that God strips the Babylonian oligarchs not only of their power but also of their wealth, including their citizens (inhabitants). Hence, Jeremiah 50:39, 40 concludes,
39 … “And it will never again be inhabited from generation to generation. 40 As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah with its neighbors,” declares the Lord, “No man will live there, nor will any son of man reside in it.”
The ancient city of Babylon is a deserted city today. Although Saddam Hussein had attempted to rebuild it with bricks inscribed with his own name, none of the workers would stay in that place overnight. It is considered to be haunted, so it remains desolate. So also is Mystery Babylon to be a deserted city. All of its people will come to believe in Jesus Christ, so that their citizenship is transferred to the Kingdom of God. Those of us who have already believed in Him enjoy the benefits of this new citizenship, as Paul says in Colossians 1:12, 13,
12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 For He delivered us from the domain [exousia, “authority”] of darkness, and transferred us to the Kingdom of His beloved Son.
In other words, even as Babylon had transferred Judah to Babylon, and the Assyrians had transferred the Israelites to Halah and Habor near the Caspian Sea, so also has the Father transferred us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of Christ.
Further, God intends to take the whole world out from under Babylon’s authority and transfer everyone into the Kingdom of Christ. He will make Babylon utterly desolate, for He will lead the captivity captive by the power of Christ’s resurrection (Ephesians 4:8). The universal scope of this transfer is explained in Colossians 1:16-20, where we are told that God created all things (ta panta), and that the death of Christ has reconciled all things to Himself (ta panta).
Hence, Babylon will be left with nothing—no authority, no assets, and no citizens—for our Redeemer is strong enough to accomplish this.
The Revelation of October 19
I awoke yesterday with the revelation that God intended to issue a decree that day which would make the Babylonian kingdom noncompliant. Darla and I then asked the Father what sort of decree we should make in our local monthly meeting (yesterday). He showed us that counterfeit conversions are unacceptable to the divine court. He requires more than lip service from the old man within, for the old Adam cannot inherit the Kingdom.
In other words, the old Adam can never become good enough to be acceptable to God as an inheritor. We can be inheritors only through the new man, the Last Adam, which is “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). The old man was sentenced to death a long time ago, and he will not be raised from the dead. Only the new man has life.
The old man is mortal; the new man is immortal. The old man cannot help but sin, because he is begotten of Adam; the new man is incapable of sin, because he is begotten of God. Paul discusses this thoroughly in Romans 7.
You are who you say you are, whether you have confidence in the old man or the new man. The problem among Christians is that most are not taught these things in any depth, and so they are caught between the two adams, trying to identify with both of them. This creates double mindedness, where Christians are wracked by guilt from the imperfections of the old man, while yet claiming to be the new man. Paul, too, wrestled with this question until finally coming to the conclusion in Romans 7:17,
17 So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which indwells me.
His new man joyfully concurred with the law of God (Romans 7:22), and he concluded in Romans 7:25, “So then, on the one hand I myself with my (new man’s) mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin (lawlessness).”
So if you find it difficult for you to serve the law of God, it is because you are identifying with the old man which serves the law of sin and cannot help but be lawless. The mind of your New Creation Man has no trouble at all serving the law of God. This is a good barometer that helps us distinguish between these two minds.
This leads us to the next big problem, because when the old man (mind) attempts to follow the law of God by the power of flesh, it always fails. Instead of serving the law of God by the power of the Spirit, it tries to comply with the law by the power of flesh and thereby produces only dead works that cannot be justified in the divine court. These dead religious works are called traditions of men. Paul speaks of these in Colossians 2:20-23,
20 If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, 21 “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” 22 (which all refer to things destined to perish with the using)—in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men? 23 These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.
Jewish religion in Paul’s day was full of commands about how to avoid things that would make people unclean for a day or even for an entire week. Paul understood that these laws of cleansing were altered by the New Covenant. People were no longer cleansed by water, but by the washing of the Word (John 15:3). Literal water was just a type and shadow, designed to teach us that the word is the true and only cleansing agent in the sight of God.
The “commandments and teachings of men” put burdens upon men that arose out of a misunderstanding of the law and its divine purpose. These had “the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion,” but have “no value against fleshly indulgence.”
Paul makes it clear a few verses later that he was contrasting the works of the two adams in us. Colossians 3:9, 10 says,
9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self [man] with its evil practices, 10 and have put on the new self [man] who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him.
The Decree
Yesterday’s revelation included all of this, and we were then instructed to issue a decree against “self-made religion,” that is, the old man’s attempt to be religious by the power of the flesh. The decree established the divine standard, essentially declaring that the old Adamic man’s religious attempts and even its good works were insufficient. The old man can never become an inheritor by its fleshly efforts to be religious or to do good.
It appears that some Babylonian rulers may have considered joining a denomination in the attempt to retain power. We know that many such rulers are already members of some denomination and pretend to be believers in Christ. Yesterday’s decree made it clear that neither church membership nor any fleshly religious practice that the old man might perform will justify anyone in the divine court.
Yesterday we agreed with God’s decree at our local meeting. As always, we did not originate this decree, but bore witness on earth to the decree that we had heard from the throne of God in heaven.
If you are led to participate from afar in this decree, you may pray in agreement with us:
"Heavenly Father, We come before Your Divine Court. We thank and praise You for Your revelation and the knowledge of Your mind, and what You want to do in the world and in this nation now. Father we thank You for distinguishing and defining what the truth actually is in relation to the old and the New Man.
On that basis, we declare on behalf of the Divine Court, knowing Your will and knowing the mind of Christ in this matter; we declare that the New Creation Man is the truth and is the true belief system by which we can all be saved. So Father we agree with You in condemning the old man, and establishing the new. We pray Father that all who are on the earth would come to that knowledge of the truth; so that they too can walk after the Spirit rather, than after the flesh; so they can be set free from the elements and rudiments of this world, and the teachings and the materialism and all this orientation where we are dependent upon the flesh, or that we have confidence in the flesh--that it could somehow, someway bring forth the Kingdom of God.
So Father, we declare before You our intention, for all those here, that we are the New Creation Man; we are no longer the old creation man. We identify with You, this is the true "I," and we declare our intention to follow after the true "I" that is in compliance with the Law of God, rather than the law of sin and death.
We thank You Father for hearing this and for doing this in the world. In the Name of Jesus." [Amen by all.]
