The law of God was designed to promote and sustain life. The laws of nature sustain life on a natural plane, while the moral laws of God provide the boundaries by which man relates to the natural world. Because man was given dominion over nature in Genesis 1:26, he needed some basic moral rules, or boundaries, to guide him in his decisions. So the laws of nature and the moral laws governing man’s behavior were designed to work together to promote Life.
Unfortunately, sin disrupted this path toward Life. When man began to sin, he began to violate the law of God, and so the law became his enemy. The law could not tolerate sin, nor could it justify sinners, nor could it reconcile any that were at enmity with God. The law is never satisfied with a lower standard for mankind. Why? Because God is not satisfied, nor will He cease to work until He has restored all men back to the standard of behavior and Life that He Himself enjoys.
Rather than begrudge God (or the law) for being unforgiving, one should view God and His law through the lens of Love, where God has a plan for all creation and has vowed to bring everything out of death back into the Life that He intended for all things.
Speaking of the Tenth Commandment, “Thou shalt not covet,” Paul tells us in Romans 7:10, “and this commandment, which was to result in life, proved to result in death for me.” His point was to give honor to the law, acknowledging that this and every law was designed to promote Life. It was only because of man’s sin that this law of Life brought the death penalty to men.
Deuteronomy 6:2 says that the law of God was given “that your days may be prolonged.” Ultimately, this prophesies of immortality, where life never ceases. This has two sides to it. First, sin brings the death penalty. Second, the way of life that sin causes us to live is one which leads to an early death or degeneration, poor-quality food, and ill health. Deuteronomy 6:24 says,
24 So the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God for our good always and for our survival [chayah, “life, preservation of life”], as it is today.
Furthermore, Moses told Israel in Deuteronomy 30:15, 16,
15 See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity; 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it.
In other words, God says that the law promotes “life and prosperity,” whereas violating the law leads to “death and adversity.” Following the law is also walking “in His ways,” because the law reveals the “ways” of God—that is, the way God Himself lives His life.
So today, when we see laws being passed that promote death, population reduction, ill health, slavery, homosexual relations, and any other adverse way of life, the laws of God are being violated, and death-culture is being promoted. When we pollute the earth through unnatural chemicals, or from genetically modified organisms (GMO’s), or by not giving the land a periodic rest, we promote death through the food supply. The population’s quality of life decreases slowly over a few generations.
Likewise, the legalization of abortion in 1973 has now claimed more than 58 million lives, all in the name of “women’s rights” and “population control” and “convenience.”
The GMO movement has as its goal the cornering of the entire world’s food supply. To do this, they find it necessary to alter the genetic makeup of plants and animals, so that they can patent those organisms and “own” them. Their plan is to usurp God’s ownership of creation and to enslave the world to their corporations that own patents on virtually everything.
Now some large corporations want to use science to render entire species extinct.

(NaturalNews) Due to recent breakthroughs in genetic engineering (GE) technology, scientists are now talking openly about deliberately attempting to modify the genomes of entire wild species to suit human ends – embracing "genetic pollution" as a goal, not a risk….
Scientists laud the potential of gene drives to eradicate insect-borne diseases, remove herbicide resistance from weeds (which of course developed this resistance due to overuse of Roundup on GE crops) and "control" invasive species. Already, scientists are testing techniques to make mosquitoes resistant to the malaria parasite or – apparently having learned nothing from the ecological catastrophes caused by wildlife policies of the 19th century – render them sterile, thus driving the entire wild population extinct.
This is the price one pays for promoting atheism among scientists. Not only is God removed as Owner of all He created, but man usurps His place and considers himself to be the only god in the universe. He thinks he is wise enough to know how to do God’s job of managing the universe. But His solutions are different from the laws of God, and wherever there is a difference, man is always wrong. (Ok, I admit, that is my bias as a Christian.)
I am pointing out the differences between God’s law and man’s law. God’s law promotes Life, well-being, and prosperity. Man’s laws promote death and adversity.
It is our duty as Christians to learn the laws (ways) of God, so that we may live as Kingdom believers awaiting the day when the Kingdom of God will replace the existing world order.
