Where is all the money going?

Until 2022, Ukraine was well known to be the most corrupt country in Europe. That corruption made it fertile ground for the sons of US politicians to become wealthy. Hunter Biden, for example, was on the board of Burisma, though he knew virtually nothing about the oil-and-gas business. He was there only to allow the company to buy access to Joe Biden.

Hunter Biden’s business deals in Ukraine and China resulted in 10% being sent to “the big guy,” Joe Biden.

The problem is that US politicians have taken advantage of Ukraine’s corruption, instead of punishing it or working to eliminate it.

A few years ago, Nigeria complained that the US government was refusing to supply them with weapons to fight the Islamic terrorist organization, Boko Haram.

JOHANNESBURG – Nigeria's ambassador to the United States has berated Washington for refusing to sell "lethal weapons" to fight his country's Islamic uprising, saying the extremists otherwise would have been defeated long ago.

Adebowale Ibidapo Adefuye said the United States is letting down an old ally in its hour of need, and Nigeria's people and government feel abandoned.

"The U.S. government has up till today refused to grant Nigeria's request to purchase lethal equipment that would have brought down the terrorists within a short time," Adefuye told members of the Washington-based Council on Foreign Relations Monday night.

"We find it difficult to understand how and why, in spite of the U.S. presence in Nigeria with their sophisticated military technology, Boko Haram should be expanding and becoming more deadly."

Now many weapons being sent to Ukraine are finding their way to Africa. So the US is indirectly arming Boko Haram.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the U.S. sends almost unlimited weapons to Ukraine without any oversight. Some of this weaponry ends up on the black market, where it is sold to other bad guys around the globe.

According to a statement by his office, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari spoke out about the threat posed by terrorist groups during a regional conference at Lake Chad Basin on Tuesday.

The 16th Summit of Heads of State and Government of Lake Chad Basin Commission was chaired by the President. However, the threat from terrorists in the area has been somewhat contained, and the influx of new weapons presents new challenges.

“Regrettably, the situation in the Sahel and the raging war in Ukraine serve as major sources of weapons and fighters that bolster the ranks of the terrorists in the Lake Chad Region. A substantial proportion of the arms and ammunition procured to execute the war in Libya continues to find its way to the Lake Chad Region and other parts of the Sahel.

“Weapons being used for the war in Ukraine and Russia are equally beginning to filter to the region.

“This illegal movement of arms into the region has heightened the proliferation of small arms and light weapons which continues to threaten our collective peace and security in the region. There is, therefore, the urgent need for expedited collaborative actions by our border control agencies and other security services to stop the circulation of all illegal weapons in the region,” President Buhari noted.

Some House Republicans submitted House Resolution. 1482 to audit the Ukraine aid, but the Democrats defeated the bill, claiming its sponsors were “echoing the propaganda of the Kremlin” and were “trying to divide NATO.”

(CNS News) – During Tuesday’s markup meeting, the House Committee on Foreign Affairs voted narrowly to reject Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) proposed resolution calling for increased oversight of the funds that have been sent to Ukraine….

“I regret that we have some voices, extremist voices in my opinion, like the sponsors of this ROI, echoing the propaganda of the Kremlin and are aiming to advance a narrative that supporting Ukraine is poor for the resources of the American people,” Committee Chair Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.) said of the proposed ROI. 

“They are trying folks,” Meeks continued, “to divide us. They are trying to divide NATO and they’re trying to divide us in this Congress at a time and on an issue from which we cannot afford to pull back.”                                                        

“The consequences for the people of Ukraine, for democracy, and for the security of Europe, the United States, and beyond, are too dire,” he added. 

It seems that “Democracy” is becoming synonymous with corruption. Perhaps 10% of all this monetary aid to Ukraine is again going to “the big guy.” How much of it is going to the corrupt oligarch-turned-president, Zelensky, is unknown, because no one dares to audit these funds.

They say that the last act of a corrupt government, just before its collapse, is to loot the treasury.
