The election in Russia on March 15-17 saw Putin winning with about 87 percent of the vote. This is not surprising, since western polling companies have consistently shown Putin’s popularity rating to be between 80 and 85 percent. Considering the fact that presidents always get more support while fighting a war (except for an unpopular war), this would easily account for the extra votes that Putin received.
Of course, this has not stopped the western media from denouncing the “fraudulent” election.
Why would a president with a popularity rating of 80-85 percent have to rig an election? Did this “rigging” give Putin an extra 2 percent? Do they think we are stupid?

“In February 2024, over eight out of ten percent of Russians approved of the activities of the Russian President Vladimir Putin. The popularity level was nine percentage points higher than in September 2022, when the figure declined following the announcement of a partial mobilization in the country. After Russia invaded Ukraine at the end of February 2022, the approval rating increased.”
The CIA issued a statement on July 7, 2023 (quoted shortly afterward by Joe Biden) that Russia has lost the war against Ukraine and was running out of ammunition and soldiers. They were still repeating this lie in September after Ukraine’s failed military offensive.
A few months later they said that Ukraine will lose the war unless we send them another $61 billion. So it seems that Russia has not lost the war after all.
Cash will not win the war for Ukraine. Victoria Nuland, from the State Department, told us recently that most of that money would go to US military-industrial companies as orders for armaments that might be delivered months or years from now. The problem is that the West has run out of arms to send to Ukraine and cannot quickly produce replacements, no matter how much cash we throw at the problem.
Drones have changed the nature of war in the past 2 years. Tanks and Bradley armored personnel carriers are being used as one-way transport vehicles. Those that survive drone attacks are quickly abandoned when they reach the battle front, because the soldiers know these will soon be destroyed by a drone. Tank warfare as such has become a relic of the past.
Meanwhile, we see Tik Tok pictures from Ukraine showing men being rounded up and forced into vans to conscript them in the Ukrainian army. No one wants to die on the front lines and so they have to be forcibly kidnapped. In Russia they have more volunteers than they can process. So which country is running out of men? Ukraine is trying to pass a very unpopular law to mobilize the country (forced conscription). Ukraine also cancelled their elections, because President Zelensky is very unpopular and would surely lose. Russia held free elections. Which country is more democratic?
Zelensky amended the Ukraine constitution to forbid any negotiation with Russia. Then they blame Russia for refusing to negotiate with Ukraine. Putin has never refused. He just wants Ukraine to be neutral and to stay out of NATO. Putin does not want NATO’s nuclear missiles on its doorstep, just as President Kennedy did not want Soviet missiles in Cuba in 1960.
This war could end quickly, if the West would stop using Ukrainians to weaken Russia and to break it up into many independent nations. Let us pray that the madness ends soon.
