Yesterday, February 28, 2025 the time of the “Little Horn” (Daniel 7:8 KJV) came to an end, and “the time arrived when the saints took possession of the kingdom” (Daniel 7:22).
The Kingdom, of course, has always been in existence in some form or other, growing from Adam’s family to the nation of Israel and finally to a worldwide empire. But “possession” of the Kingdom has been a problem. Those who were called corrupted themselves and those who were in leadership mismanaged the Kingdom and oppressed those they were supposed to bless.
For this reason, God sent Israel and Judah into exile, and when Judah was exiled to Babylon, God put the king of Babylon in charge of the Kingdom (Jeremiah 27:6). Jeremiah’s revelation was limited, so he saw only a 70-year Babylonian captivity, but toward the end of that captivity, God revealed to Daniel that the captivity would be very long. Babylon was just the first of a series of empires that would possess the Kingdom.
After Daniel came Medo-Persia, then Greece, then Imperial Rome, and then a “little horn” extending the dominion of Rome indefinitely. This horn had “eyes of a man and a mouth uttering great boasts” (Daniel 7:8). The prophet interpreted this later in Daniel 7:21, 22, 25,
21 I kept looking, and that horn was waging war with the saints and overpowering them 22 until the Ancient of Days came and judgment was passed in favor of the saints of the Highest One, and the time arrived when the saints took possession of the kingdom… 25 and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law…
In Revelation 13:5-7 John described this little horn in similar terms with some added details,
5 There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was also given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them…
Many Bible teachers since 1850 have claimed that the little horn is “The Antichrist,” but he is, in fact, the horn on a Roman beast. Antichrist is something different. This horn is the continuation of the Roman Empire, except that it is religious in nature, not merely political. Both Imperial and Religious Rome have persecuted the saints, each in turn.
Imperial Rome fell in 476 A.D., and 51 years later Emperor Justinian, a very religious man, came to power in Constantinople. (Constantine had built this new city and in 330 A.D. had moved his capital there from Rome. He died in 337 A.D., and his successors all ruled from Constantinople.) The first thing Justinian did was to change the Roman calendar so it no longer dated from the founding of Rome but from the birth of Christ. Thus, he made “alterations in time.”
Then he set about revamping the entire Roman legal code to reflect “Orthodox Christian law.” The first draft was published in 529, and its revision was published in 530. It came into force at the end of 534 A.D. These dates, then, mark the actual start of the “Little Horn” era, which has just now ended in 2025 after nearly 1,500 years.
Whereas Daniel saw just one beast which was called a little horn, John saw the little horn subdivided into two beasts. The first rose up from the sea (Revelation 13:2), while the second rose up from the earth (Revelation 13:11). The first was religious, while the second was financial in nature.
The first was given “forty-two months” which prophetically is 42 x 30 days, or 1,260 days/years. Dating from 527-534 A.D., this came to an end in 1787-1794 during the French Revolution, which overthrew papal rule and slaughtered over 30,000 priests. In 1798 Napoleon took the pope captive in Rome itself, and in that same year Nathan Rothschild was sent by his father to London, where he became the founder of the modern banking system.
Just as Justinian had launched the dominion of the religious beast from the sea, so also Nathan Rothschild launched the dominion of the financial beast from the earth. By 1815 these two beasts were merged when the Congress of Vienna appointed the Rothschilds as the “guardians of the papal treasure” (The Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. X). In other words, the Vatican was treated as a minor or as mentally incapacitated, having been overthrown by Napoleon and later reinstated. (This was the “fatal wound” that was healed, as per Revelation 13:3.)
There is much history that we must leave out that would explain this prophecy further. I believe that this guardianship lasted 99 years to 1914, whereupon a new financial order was established with the passage of the Federal Reserve Act (December 23, 1913). This allowed the Vatican Bank to be established in 1942. Its corruption and money-laundering practices were beyond the ability of the three most recent popes to clean up.
Furthermore, there are reports that that the Vatican is bankrupt.

This brings us to Pope Francis, who is the 111th pope on St. Malachy’s list of popes that he listed in the 1500’s. At the end of his list, he wrote this:
“In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End.”

I believe that Pope Francis is the last pope, called “Peter the Roman.” He is now gravely ill. So watch the events at the Vatican in the next few weeks. We are currently in the middle of our second 76-day cleansing cycle in the Prophetic Year. There are still 40 days to go until this cycle comes to an end. February 28 marked the end of the Little Horn’s dominion and the transfer of authority to the saints of the Most High. We have now entered a time of many watch dates, so I expect to see a flurry of activity before April 9.
