It is always good to finish up a project. Having finished writing the commentary on Second Peter, our arsenal of commentaries now includes all of the New Testament writers. This broadens our understanding of the word itself.
Today my wife finished proofing First Peter, which was finished a month ago. It still has to be proofed by my son Joel, who always manages to find a few typos that Darla missed, even though she reads through each new book twice before passing it on to Joel. I think we spend more time in the proofing stage than in the actual writing itself. I do the formatting and the basic editing for content, but they save me a lot of time and tedious work by proofreading the books.
We are planning to offer both of Peter’s epistles in a single volume (i.e., Book 1 and Book 2), perhaps in late July.
We have also been proofing the commentary on Zechariah. Darla has finished her part, and Joel is nearing the end of his proofreading as well. I included many color pictures in Zechariah, so this will mark a big turn in the quality of the books. I will have to sit down and talk with the rep from the printshop to check the feasibility (and cost) of including color pictures. If all goes well, this book should be sent to the printshop by early July.
My intention is to send two books to the printshop at the same time. Zechariah will be one of them, but I don’t know if Peter will be the other. We are also working on another commentary that combines Nahum and Zephaniah in a single volume. I am not sure if this will be finished before the commentary on Peter or later. We might end up sending all three books to the printshop at the same time. Or we might just send two of them first and wait for another book to be proofed so we can print the other two at the same time in August.
As you must know, last year we got a bit behind in printing books, as I was busy working on other projects. At the same time, I was somewhat slowed down for health reasons. Going to physical therapy twice a week took time, exercising took time, and also, I lost so much weight that I found it difficult to sit at the computer for more than two hours at a time. I lost a lot of padding toward the rear and needed to lie down and stretch out periodically.
I still have a backlog of a few other books that need to be put into print. Some of you have inquired about them. I have not forgotten about them, but because I continue writing blogs, I tend to create more work for myself and the family that makes it difficult to catch up on prior projects. In my spare time, I am also working on a short book that outlines the gospel in the stars, complete with pictures of the constellations, their biblical names, and the truths that God was setting forth when He named them (Psalm 147:4) as prophetic “signs” (Genesis 1:14).
I try to find enough work to keep myself busy. (I’m trying to keep up with Pastor Fiaz, whose translation and printing work is changing the face of the church in Pakistan. Likewise, the work in Nepal and Sri Lanka is ongoing, although most of the churches have fewer people.)
As we approach the end of the age, the world is becoming increasingly dangerous. It has always been dangerous in various countries, of course, but it is quite clear that the world is moving closer to that climactic battle that will seal the fate of the Edomite state called Israel, as the prophets have foretold.
Esau-Edom was given his due in 1947-1948, on account of Jacob’s deception. It is now increasingly clear that Esau was actually given 76 years to prove himself worthy or unworthy of the birthright and to call itself by the birthright name, Israel. Their time ended in November 2023, shortly after the Gaza uprising a few weeks earlier. At first, the world had sympathy for the Israelis, but it soon became apparent that the Israelis were using this incident to implement their “Greater Israel” plan. This included genocide of Gaza and Palestine, and this extermination plan now includes southern Lebanon.
Prior to this time, most of the world knew little or nothing about the “Greater Israel” plan. They did not know that the two blue lines (above and below) on the Israeli flag represent the Nile and the Euphrates. They never defined their borders legally, because their intent was to expand and take over the entire Middle East and displace the existing populations. But now most of the world understands that plan, and (as President Trump has now admitted), everyone hates them.
In my view, God has put Edom on trial before the world as a whole. The nations are the jury. And when the Edomite state is finally destroyed (as per Jeremiah 19:11 and Isaiah 29:1-3), a whole new righteous Kingdom order will begin to emerge among the nations, one based not on theft and hatred but on loving one’s neighbor, as the law commands.
A year ago war broke out between the US-Edom alliance and the Iran-Russia-China alliance, referred to in Revelation 16:12 as “the kings from the east.” That conflict lasted just 12 days before the Israelis began to run out of interceptor missiles and had to quickly sue for a ceasefire. This uneasy truce lasted until February 28, 2026, when the combined forces of Edom and the USA launched a full-scale missile attack on Iran, hoping to win within four days.
Another uneasy truce was declared April 9 after 40 days of pounding on both sides. However, the war continues, because there is no agreement (and no trust) between the two sides. I do not know when this truce will break down completely, but in my view this will not end well for either Edom or the USA.
Revelation 16:12 tells us that the kings from the east (parallel to Cyrus and Darius in the prophecies of Daniel) were released by God’s angel when he poured out the sixth bowl of the wine of judgment. They were raised up just prior to the seventh bowl of wine, where Babylon is destroyed. That tells me that this current war against Iran/Persia is the final preparatory stage leading to the full destruction of Mystery Babylon and the establishment of the Kingdom.
As for me, I prepare for the Kingdom by writing and publishing books that give a better understanding of the law, the prophets, and the New Covenant. We leave it to God to do the work of undermining and tearing down prophetic Babylon. We focus on the positive work. We look ahead to what comes after, believing that the world as a whole will see the righteousness of God’s Kingdom and will want its benefits. By showing the world the contrast between beast systems of government and God’s Kingdom government, the people will be better able to choose between the two.
Meanwhile, however, we have felt the pressure from opposing spiritual forces in high places that are trying to resist the Kingdom. I hear from inside sources (defectors) that there is some panic in the enemy camps, as they know their time is short. Some day I hope to publish a history of these spiritual wars. The bottom line is that WE WIN. Please continue to pray for us for divine protection and for the forces of darkness to be pushed back by the Kingdom of Light.
