A Time of Unprecedented Disaster

It is quite normal that the Lord speaks to me in the morning as I awake to give me the theme of each day's web log. Today I awoke with the word, "We are entering a time of unprecedented disaster."

A word like that is, in itself, quite unprecedented. What does it mean? In short, I believe it means that we are now on a final countdown toward a war with Iran and perhaps Syria as well, which could very well widen to involve other nations. It will probably be like so many wars in the past century (since the Spanish-American War of 1898), in which we make sure at least one ship is sunk, so that we can blame the other side and whip public sentiment into supporting the war by a spirit of revenge.

Americans walk by sight, not by faith. We seldom dig deeper into such matters to find out the root causes of war, and even more seldom do we study the situation in the context of history. Nationalism and patriotism are defined by one's ability to support all government causes, whether just or unjust, and Christians believe patriotism is one of the fruits of the Spirit.

I myself am a Christian first. As best I can, I will live at peace with all men and submit to the laws of this nation, as Scripture teaches. But on the other hand, America was established with the view that we were one nation under God, and this means that when the nation asks me to support an unjust cause, I must obey God rather than men.

The current trouble in the Middle East has one major cause--the establishment of a Jewish State in which only Jews are equal and all others are unequal and unwelcome, unless they can be a servant class. Of course, not all Jews feel this way. Not even all Israelis feel this way. But a Jewish state exists nonetheless, exempt from all the moral norms that Western society places upon other nations.

The President of Iran made the point recently in his visit to the United Nations, "Why should the Palestinians pay the price for the persecution of Jews during World War II? What did they do to deserve that?" No news man attempted to answer that question. They would not touch it with a ten-foot pole. But that comes close to the heart of the moral issue. Can we rectify a wrong done to one group by stealing from another? Should one nation give away someone else's land to another--rather than his own land?

The Jewish terrorists in the 1940's ultimately forced the British out of Palestine through the efforts of Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Shamir, and many others. Later, the terrorists were pardoned wholesale and became leaders in the Jewish state. You can read about it in their own biographies, which I quoted in my book, The Struggle for the Birthright.

Once they were pardoned, America stopped supporting any more terrorists, especially the Arab variety. Yasir Arafat organized the PLO in the early 1960's, thinking that if terrorism was good enough for Jews, it was good enough for Arabs. But he ran up against the principle of Church Christianity that would support whatever Jews might do and oppose anything that an Arab might do if it opposed whatever a Jew might do.

This basic lack of justice in 1948 is not going away. It will fester until (1) one side or the other is annihilated in a clash of civilizations; or (2) God intervenes by the power of the Holy Spirit to judge and to rectify all the wrongs.

Since the American presidents have had no inclination to go to the root of the problem, we have now come to the climax of the clash of civilizations. Rhetoric has gone on long enough. American policy says that it will oppose any group or nation that refuses to recognize the right of the Jewish state to exist. No attempt is made to justify that position, for it is presumed to be the right one, based upon the idea that the Jews are God's Chosen People. That concept is the great justifier of all injustice, for "chosen" is synonymous with "privileged" in the eyes of the evangelical Church world.

So now our long-time support of the Jewish state has brought us the blessings of war and ill feelings toward most of the world. If it were not for the fact that our foreign aid purchases the support of many nations, we would have little or no support at all. Christians say that God will curse us if we do not support the Jewish state, when in fact God supports justice, not privileged people.

Our unconditional support for "Israel" has brought us into this time of unprecedented disaster. On 9-11-01 God removed His hand of protection from our nation, not because our government supports secularism and abortion, but because it continues to support the Jewish state.

Meanwhile, Mystery Babylon continues to rule us and the world. God is about to set us free, and He will use Iran to accomplish this purpose. For the past two decades I have understood this, simply because Iran is modern Persia, and Persia was the nation God used to overthrow ancient Babylon. So the fact that Iran has come to the forefront of modern prophetic history is no surprise.

America is now feverishly preparing to send a fleet of ships to the Persian Gulf, including the Eisenhower nuclear aircraft carrier. It is called the Eisenhower Strike Group, or "Ike Strike." They are set to sail on October 1st, with only a week's notice to the servicemen who now have to part from their families once again. The fleet is scheduled to arrive at its destination on October 21, just before the end of the Islamic month of Ramadan and the Hebrew month of Tishri.

There have been warnings from the terrorists for Muslims to leave America, because they intend to implement a major disaster soon. The month of Ramadan keeps coming up as a distinct possibility, and so it looks as if President Bush is taking it very seriously. Perhaps this is why the warships must arrive at the Persian Gulf by the end of Ramadan. No doubt, if we see a man-made disaster here, we will blame Iran and quickly attack them with or without congressional approval. We have a long history of quickly assuming guilt if the government tells us so.

Iran will then respond with silkworm missiles from China and Sunburns from Russia. We have little or no defense against either. Ships will be sunk--and the Pentagon knows this. But ships and sailors have been used historically as the cannon fodder for those who want us to go to war. America then becomes angry with those who sent the missiles instead of the leaders who deliberately sent the ships into harm's way.

On top of all this, there is a report that Iran and Turkey are even now preparing for war in northern Iraq to put an end to "Kurdistan." They see Iraq as being in the midst of civil war, and they believe that the nation will split into three pieces, as I have long predicted. The northern piece is Kurdish territory, and these people have long wanted their own nation of Kurdistan. But since there are many Kurds in Eastern Turkey (Armenia) and across the Iranian border, both Turkey and Iran are afraid that they will lose some territory to Kurdistan. Thus, they do not want an independent Kurdish nation.

So they have each amassed troops on the border in northern Iraq and apparently have already been fighting on a small scale a few miles into Iraqi territory. The DEBKAfile report for Sept. 24 says,

"Informed US officials would not be surprised if Turkey took the chance of seizing northern Iraqi oil fields centered on the oil-rich town of Kirkuk, the source of 40 percent of Iraq's oil output."
