We have reached the end of the spiritual work to pour out the vials, and can now expect to see the fruit of our labor in the coming months and years as it unfolds. Keep in mind that since all things happen in the spirit before occurring in the world, there is always a time lag between the spiritual work and the historical fulfillment. These things are normally fulfilled according to an appropriate time cycle, and sometimes the events are phased in over time. It is not up to us to determine HOW these things come to pass.
What truly interests me is not so much the fall of the Babylonian system, but rather the building of the Kingdom of God to replace it. This in itself is a big work. Particularly since 2001 we have watched God build the foundations of this coming work, although in a greater sense He has been laying foundations for millennia.
A Kingdom requires a King, territory, laws, and citizens. The Kingdom of God has been acquiring citizens since the beginning. The laws have likewise existed from the beginning, but have been given progressively over time. They reached codification stage in the days of Moses, and from that time on, He has been teaching us how to apply them by the mind of the King who is also the Lawgiver.
As for territory, He bought (redeemed) all that was lost in Adam and is now in the process of claiming it.
Though God gave us the outline for perfect government in the writings of Moses, the big hurdle has been that He has not had proper administrators of His Kingdom to perpetuate this perfect government. Moses was imperfect, as proven by his striking the rock in Numbers 20. But even if he were perfect, he was mortal. Even if Joshua had been perfect, he too died in the end. Israel degenerated into rebellion then, doing what was right in their own eyes--which is the theme of the Book of Judges.
What the Kingdom needs to function without end is a body of administrators who are not only perfected but immortal. This is what He has been working on since the beginning. Throughout each generation He has trained various people, and when they reached the end of their training, God took them and preserved them to the time of the end. He then intends to bring them back into the earth ("the resurrection") to administer His Kingdom.
In a Word that I received on October 1, 2006, the Father mentioned these administrators, calling them "apostles and prophets." In Ephesians 2:20 these are said to be the foundation of this new "temple" that is being built out of living stones. This word reminded me of a previous prayer campaign in March of 2001 called "He is Building Effective Apostleship." We understood from that revelation that God was completing a lengthy work of training the Kingdom administrators (overcomers) that would soon be sent out in the greater work to come.
It appears now that the foundations have been laid, indicating that those apostles and prophets have been sanded down and shaped properly. Not only are they ready in their own eyes to be sent out, but more importantly, God sees that they are ready and now in place.
Hence, we now come to today's prayer campaign. I had thought at first that this was to be a "prayer battle," but that is not strictly the case. This is an Inspection. Of course, the priests in Moses' day were assigned to "war the warfare" (Lev. 4:23, translated "perform the service"). So these priestly duties include spiritual warfare. But even so, this is more of an inspection than a battle as such.
Whether or not you feel like an overcomer or an administrator or an apostle or prophet, you are all welcome to participate in this prayer campaign. None of us are qualified for anything apart from an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. At Pentecost, God turned lowly fishermen from disciples to apostles, "those sent," and they changed the world.
Here is the Prayer to pray today:
"Father, we come before Your throne of grace under the blood of Jesus and in His name. We thank you for opening our eyes and revealing the time that Your word is to go forth in the power of the Spirit. Make us faithful in this Open Door ministry to give Your word freely, that all men may glorify Your Name.
"Father, cause Your people to repent for rejecting the Gospel of the Kingdom and for rebelling against You. Let them understand the clean word and reject what is unclean. Turn their hearts to worship You in Your true temple, that they may hear God's word that You are speaking through Your apostles and prophets."
Here, too, is the Promise that He gave at the same time to all of us:
"I am with you to save you. So let My word dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Take no thought what to speak, for I will give you the words to say in that hour, and it will not be you that speak, but the Holy Spirit.
"I will provide you with all the means to preach the word, because you have dealt faithfully with Me. Is the Spirit of the Lord insufficient to provide all things?"
Thanks to all of you who are led to be in agreement with this prayer to the Father. If any of you read this at a later date and wish to participate, you are welcome to add your voice to this. God is not bound by time, and so it will be as if you had prayed with the rest of us on this same date, Oct. 10, 2006.
