Leslie, Arkansas is a small town in the Ozarks north of Little Rock on Highway 65 where it intersects with Hwy. 66. We will be meeting at a Tabernacle where they used to have very large meetings with Bill Britton and others of the Latter Rain movement in past decades. Mike Winchell is making a banner for us to plant, whose meaning is much like the Cross that was planted 400 years ago at the Jamestown Colony (1607).
There is no registration fee. We will have some kind of basket for those of you who can help us with some of the costs of the conference, but we want you to come regardless of whether or not you can afford to help us in this way. Call us at 763-502-0507 so that we have some idea how many people are coming.
SPEAKERS: Rick Spencer, Pastor Don King, Willie Cripps, Len Yule, Stephen Jones. We are arranging a special session on that Saturday afternoon, meeting at a nearby corral so that Len Yule can give us a demonstration of how to train a horse in about 45 minutes without the usual "bucking bronco" method. He uses this as a teaching tool to show how God trains us, not by instilling fear, but by making us WANT to do His will. I suspect that this will be the highlight of the conference (unless we get rained out).
DIRECTIONS: From Hwy. 65, turn East on Hwy. 66, going across the bridge into town, and then turn right on the main street. Hwy. 66 then makes a 90-degree turn to the left at the bank. Turn right on the street after the Methodist Church. Follow the street to the top of the hill. Turn right at the sign to the campground.
Leslie Café is the only restaurant in town. They can handle a certain number of people, but some may have to drive 8 miles to Marshall, where there is another restaurant. Otherwise, there are many restaurants in Clinton, including the Western Sizzler.
ACCOMMODATIONS: There are 3 or 4 spaces for RV’s at the nearby Medical Clinic. For those who want to save money, there are free dorm rooms available on site, if you bring your own bedding.
MOTELS in the area: Marshall is 8 miles north of Leslie. Clinton is 20 miles south.
The B & B Motel is currently being built in Leslie, just as you cross the bridge into town from Hwy 65. It should be finished by the time of the conference. You might be able to make reservations shortly by calling their number at 870-504-0238.
