In my weblog dealing with Joseph, whose picture is on the newly discovered coins in Egypt, there are some details that I failed to see immediately.
First is the connection with the treasure hidden in the field that was found in the field of Mercia ("mercy") in England. This is a picture of Matt. 13:44,
"Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hid in the field, which, when a man has found, he hides and goes and sells all that he has and buys that field."
We are told in Matt. 13:39 that "the field is the world." The "peculiar treasure" is Israel, according to Exodus 19:5, 6. When the tribes of Israel were lost, it was because God had hidden them in the field, just as He had hidden Joseph in Egypt for so many years.
Jesus is the man who purchased the field (world) in order to have a lawful claim to the hidden treasure. Jesus could not simply grab the treasure and run, because that would have been theft. He had to buy the field in order to own the treasure hidden in it.
I have long related this hidden treasure to the story of Joseph, the man hidden in Egypt. In fact, Joseph was hidden in plain sight, and no one recognized him. So also, the coins in Egypt were hidden in plain sight. They were sitting in a box, and no one knew what a treasure they had right in front of their eyes. According to the article,
"Joseph's name appears twice on this coin, written in hieroglyphs: once the original name, Joseph, and once his Egyptian name, Saba Sabani, which was given to him by Pharaoh when he becametreasurer.
Joseph's new name in Gen. 41:45, given to him by Pharaoh, is Zaphnath-paaneah. Different scholars have differing interpretations of his name, but the most credible one has to do with a hidden treasure. It is as if to say that Pharaoh had a wise man nearby hidden in the prison and did not even realize it.
Anyway, the article above tells us that Joseph was Pharaoh's "treasurer," and this appears to confirm the interpretation of his name. Likewise, the connection to Matt. 13:44 also makes him the "hidden treasure" in the field.
So first the hidden treasure was unearthed in the Field of Mercy. At the same time, the coins of Joseph were discovered, whose name has to do with hidden treasure, and the coins themselves were a hidden treasure.
Finally, some months ago we heard an advertisement on television: "Mercy coming this fall." It was, of course, a new drama series wih the setting in a hospital, and it is simply called "Mercy." Its premier showing was the other night, just about the time that the treasure from the Field of Mercy was announced to the world.
All of this points to a very significant divine intervention on September 24, 2009, which connects first to Joseph, then to the lost house of Israel, and most important, to the manifestation of the sons of God. Ultimately, Joseph and the Birthright is about the Fruitfulness Mandate of Gen. 1:26-28, and it is the Mandate given to Joseph in Gen. 49:22, saying, "Joseph is a fruitful bough." The Hebrew word for bough is BEN, "a son."
The next verse tells us,
"The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him."
As I showed in Part 2 of God Prophetically Named the Stars, an archer is also a Teacher. Gen. 49:23 is prophesying that many Bible teachers have "hated" Joseph and the lost tribes of Israel, not intentionally, of course, but in their opposition to his claim to the Birthright. The Christian Zionists hate all that Joseph represents, because they want the Jews to be "chosen" and to have the Birthright.
But they are not the Israelites of Scripture, and they know it. And in fact, to be an Israelite these days requires more than a genealogical connection to those Israelites of Scripture. To inherit the Birthright and become a manifested son of God, one must become an overcomer. This is the lawful manner of obtaining the Birthright, and the law trumps genealogy.
So to me, the unearthing of the hidden treasure of gold (divine nature) in the Field of Mercy, with the inscription from Num. 10:35, tells us that God is rising up to intervene in the affairs of men. The first evidence of this is that Israel/Joseph is being re-discovered after being lost for so many centuries. And we are moving closer to the time of the manifestation of the sons of God.
