The Work of the Watchers--Part 5 (Ron's testimony)

Ron sent me an email with this testimony, commenting on the Los Angeles quake that occurred at 4:31 a.m. on Jan. 17, 1994. He lived in California at that time, and I met him a few months after the LA quake.

Steve gave reference yesterday and today to the October 17, 1989 Northern California earthquake and its connection to the time of the Northridge, California earthquake on January 17, 1994 at 4:31 a.m.

It will be helpful to all if some clarification is added to what has already been written regarding Steve's reference yesterday to my own connection with these quakes, so I will try and put a bit more meat on the bones, as they say.

On December 9, 1993, I was in the Los Angeles metro area with two friends regarding business. We were driving to an appointment, when it was discovered that we had been traveling in the exact wrong direction for some time. We charted a course that would somewhat loop us back to the correct location and began to proceed accordingly.

Suddenly, one of my companions said that there was going to be an earthquake in this area and that we were to pray in the Spirit. Based on her track record of accuracy over the years, I didn't hesitate to obey. Soon she said that we were to pray Father's grace and mercy over all the inhabitants of the affected area to minimize suffering and loss of life.

Now fast forward to January 16, 1994, the day before the Northridge [L.A.] quake. This writer was downloaded with Jeremiah 1:10,

"See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant."

This shook me a bit, as my interpretation was initially on a personal level; but as my meditation proceeded, it seemed to be much more corporate in scope. My sense also was that something would occur on the following day, the 17th, and that it would represent VICTORY--although it would look like anything but victory at the time. As we all know, the number 17 in Scripture is associated with victory, and said number is tied to both Joseph and Benjamin. In both cases the victory is forecast immediately before the bondage and demonstrated in the actual events that play out at "the end of the story." This is not the specific focus for this report, so we will move on for now.

This reporter's notes that were written on the 16th (now long since lost in the many moves over the years) focused on the four acts of destruction in Jeremiah 1:10 that must precede the planting and building at the end of the verse; hence it was really victory, but would not appear so at first.

The sense kept coming that whatever was going to happen would be tied to the 66 chapters of Isaiah which correspond to the 66 Books of the Bible. Also, that the Lord was going to take down the condemned building, so to speak, and REBUILD.

The next morning brought the news of the large quake, originally measured at 6.6 on the Richter Scale. The USA paper had a headline that read something like LA being rocked to its soul. It was also reported that a 6 lb. 6 oz. baby girl was born at the time of the quake. And, of course, the news that the quake occurred at 4:31 a.m.

It didn't take long to realize that the quake had occurred in the same area we had been led to pray over 38 days earlier. It was noted in the papers that both the early morning timing and the fact that it was on the Martin Luther King holiday had undoubtedly prevented the loss of untold number of lives--truly a miraculous sign.

The quake produced some other news that was interesting as well, and it brought to light the fact that the area of the quake is where the largest production of pornographic material in the United States was taking place, and the severe damage that the quake caused this "industry." Here is an excerpt from a Christian article about this topic:

The 1994 Northridge earthquake hit the pornography industry very hard. This industry, centered in and around Northridge, had every major studio and distribution center hit during the quake. One pornography film director said, "Can you imagine how the fundamentalists are going to leap on this when the smoke clears? They will say it's God's retribution" (Ferraiulo 1994: 57).

Retribution? Probably not. God still loves them, yet hates their sin. In love, He has given them a warning. . . More realistic is the comment by a Los Angeles Police Department detective: "I don't think there is anything that will drive these people out of the area. It's a billion dollar business" (Anonymous, 1994; A11). The industry, and Los Angeles, will probably continue along their merry, sinful ways just like the Northern Kingdom did in the years after the earthquake [Amos 1:1; Zech. 14:5], yet later suffered destruction and captivity...

Now, on to the all-important time of the quake and its ramifications. The thought came that the actual time was a timing code and that something had occurred exactly 4 years and 3 months prior. This turned out to be the famous "World Series" quake of October 17, 1989.

The thought also came that 4:31 also indicated the timing of something (which I believed would be another quake) going forward. I didn't know how exactly to read it, so my reasoning was that either another quake would happen somewhere one month later on February 17, 1994, or one years later on January 17, 1995, or possibly three years and one month later on February 17, 1997.

And so, right on schedule, the Kobe quake happened, with all its messages one year later, as Steve has mentioned. It should also be noted that we passed the 17-year anniversary of the Northridge quake earlier this year, and next January 17th will be the 17th anniversary of the Kobe quake. Kobe is God's Gate, and when Jacob awoke, he said in Genesis 28:17,

"And he was afraid, and said, "How dreadful [is] this place! This [is] none other but the house of God, and this [is] the gate of heaven.

Again, note the verse number [17]. Nothing is by accident.

Not too long after the Northridge quake, it was discovered that Rick Joyner, or someone he knew, realized that the time of the quake was tied to Acts 4:31 and the great shaking during the second time that Scripture says they were all in one accord in Acts 4:24, "And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord. . ."

Here is Acts 4:31,

"And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spoke the word of God with boldness."

MY CLOSING COMMENT:

The three quakes (in 1989, 1994, and 1995) all spoke prophetically, and they are all intertwined into a single, larger revelation that is both positive and negative. The negative side is that God is going to "root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down," while the positive side is that God is also going "to build and to plant" (Jer. 1:10).

He will uproot the immorality, as represented by the Northridge pornography industry. He will build and plant by the outpouring of His Spirit, as seen in Acts 4:31. In my own example, I was corrected the day before the "World Series" quake in San Francisco in 1989. 4 years, 3 months, and 1 day later was the Northridge quake in L.A., which shook the whole city. 980 days later was the Jubilee declaration of Sept. 23, 1996, signifying the soon-coming outpouring of the Holy Spirit, by which God will build and plant His Kingdom.
