This may prove to be the biggest newsworthy event this month.
The US has waged a war of isolation against Russia ever since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Russia has attempted to look West and essentially become a European country, and the US has seen this as a threat to its own hegemony over Europe. So the US government has done its best to drive wedges between Europe and Russia for the past 25 years.
Part of the US strategy was to create ISIS in order to overthrow President Assad of Syria, since Syria was a strategic Russian ally. This attempt has now failed, but the chaos in Syria has caused a huge displacement of people as immigrants flee to Europe to get away from the war.
This immigration problem may have been an unintended consequence to the anti-Assad policy. Russia refused to be cowed by US policy and is now building a military base on the Syrian coast to defend Assad from the US-led rebels (including ISIS). This marks the moment of US defeat in this proxy war. But the “gates of hell” have been opened with floods of immigrants pouring into Europe.
The alarm among European leaders is now evident, as they are coming to understand the consequences of their support for US policy and for submitting to US hegemony. It is reported that last week end Germany, France, and Russia agreed to fight ISIS jointly. In essence, they have joined forces against the US-led rebels in Syria. More significantly, Germany and France have now abandoned the US war plan in support of ISIS against Assad and have embraced the Russian peace plan in support of Assad and against ISIS.
This marks a huge shift in geopolitics. It is hard to underestimate the consequences of this snub of President Obama and US foreign policy as a whole. While the US has tried to prevent Russia from joining Europe, now Europe is joining Russia. The post-cold-war Iron Curtain has just been breached, and the flow of power is from West to East.
In a surprise move Germany left the anti-Putin-alliance formed by the USA: Germany is now officially welcoming Moscow’s readiness to act in Syria and is starting an initiative together with the Russians and the French to bring an end to the war. This is to stop the constant stream of refugees. Germany has ordered thousands of soldiers into readiness.
Germany surprisingly left the alliance formed together with the United States which intended to block Russia’s entry into the Syrian conflict.
Minister of Defence Ursula von der Leyen told Der Spiegel that she welcomed president Putin’s intentions of joining the fight against the extremist organization “Islamic State”. It would be a matter of mutual interests, she said.
A speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added, Germany would welcome additional efforts of Russia in the fight against IS. Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier even announced the starting of a joint venture between him, Russian foreign minister Lavrov and their French colleague Laurent Fabius with the aim of bringing the Syrian civil war to an end. Lavrov and Fabius are expected to arrive in Berlin this Saturday.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called upon the US-Ministry of Defence to coordinate their efforts with the Russian military.
Is the US happy about the prospect of ending the war in Syria? No, of course not. That would ruin the US plan altogether.
Russia already began a diplomatic offensive weeks ago. The Americans did not precisely indicate whether they would support the Russian initiative. Under no circumstances would the US give Russia credit for solving the deadlocked situation, should Russia in fact be successful. Therefore the US-government warned precautionary of a worsening in the refugee crisis should Russia intervene.
It sounds to me like the US is threatening to unleash ISIS upon the civilian population of Syria to increase atrocities so that more immigrants will flood into Europe.
Austria and Spain signaled days ago that a Russian participation in the battle against IS was crucial. Russia began expanding its military activities in Syria.
Spain and Austria are both suffering from huge numbers of immigrants. Spain’s economy is already in recession, and they cannot afford to feed and house so many immigrants. Will Italy be next? Italy is under the same pressure, largely from immigrants coming from Libya, which is another country destroyed by US foreign policy in its desire to overthrow Kaddafi.
It appears that US hegemony over Europe is nearing an end, thanks to the immigration crisis. The US plan to destabilize Syria and other Mideast nations has proven to be disastrous for Europe. The US government has lost its war against Russia on two fronts: first in Ukraine, and now in Syria. The European alliances are still in transition, but the movement is East, not West.
Putin and Obama Meeting Next Monday
On September 18, I posted an article quoting a former Indian ambassador, who said that a meeting between Putin and Obama was “inevitable,” because of Russia’s recent victories over America in regard to Syria.
Taking into account the changes, Syrian President Bashar Assad is in no danger of being removed from power, according to the expert….
As a result, a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Barack Obama during the UN General Assembly in New York is inevitable, Bhardakumar presumed.

Well, the inevitable is now scheduled for Monday after the UN summit. NewsMax is now running a headline:
President Barack Obama will hold a rare in-person meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the United Nations General Assembly next week in New York amid a new flare-up of tensions over Russia's moves in Syria.

The White House is spinning this as a meeting to see if Putin will back down and support the US “peace” plan for Syria—that is, to see if Putin will pressure Assad to step down so that the US-backed ISIS leaders can rule Syria.
The White House decided the meeting would serve as a test of whether high-level engagement with the Russians can result in any progress in resolving profound differences, according to a administration official, who requested anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. The official said Putin requested the discussion, which also was announced in Moscow by a Kremlin spokesman.
The reality, however, is that with Germany, France, Austria, and Spain all defecting to the Russian plan, President Obama is being forced to meet with Putin to see if any kind of face-saving compromise can be obtained. With the Russian move to build a military base in Syria, it is clear that ISIS is doomed. So now the US is suddenly switching its rhetoric from war to peace.
Kerry said Tuesday that the U.S. "hope is that Russia is prepared to be helpful and Iran prepared to be helpful in finding a peaceful resolution to this conflict."
This is the height of hypocrisy. No one in the State Department wanted peace until it became clear that ISIS would be defeated by Russia’s entry into Syria’s civil war. Now they are hoping to save their ISIS allies.
In all of this, Putin has clearly won the diplomatic battle. Although the US has pushed him and poked him in the eye with sanctions and bad press, Putin has remained calm. The US has tried many times to provoke Putin into reacting with foolish anger in order to give the western media the excuse to say, “See, we told you so.” Any angry response from Putin would have been used by the media to blame Putin for starting the war.
But Putin obviously knows this, and so he has remained friendly in spite of Obama’s insults and lies. In fact, the idea for this meeting on Monday did not originate with Obama, but with Putin, who, in spite of the continuous barrage of insults, has extended a friendly hand to Obama many times.
The underlying drama is over whose peace plan will be implemented. The US does not want Russia to get credit for establishing peace, mostly because it would end the civil war by supporting Assad’s government. But the US may be forced to go along with it in order to sabotage the plan from within and poison the plan at every opportunity.
The question now is what new tactic will the US take? Having lost the diplomatic battle, will they create another false flag event in order to blame Russia and make it look bad? Will they pull the plug on the European economy and then trade monetary support for hegemony? Will they pretend to join the Russian initiative and then keep their ISIS allies informed as to where Russian jets will bomb next?
At this point, it is hard to say, but we should remain watchful.
