The rise of the saints, part 7

At the Passover conference in Manassas, VA, Isaiah 61:1-3 was read as a prophetic prayer. We did not know it at the time, but this was the start of a 9 x 414-day cycle to July 4, 2021, when the same passage was again prayed prophetically. This seems to connect 2011 with 2021 by the Hezekiah Factor, where events tend to pick up where they left off ten years earlier.

The year 2011, in turn, was a ten-year Hezekiah cycle from 2001, when the Twin Towers were demolished and the world as we know it changed drastically. Hence, the year 2021 can be viewed as a double Hezekiah Factor from 2001.

The Significance of Silver

The day after our conference ended in 2011, the price of silver reached a high of $49.845/oz, which was its highest point since 1980. I had been watching for silver to reach $50/oz, but it fell just short of that price.

To me, gold and silver represent Babylon and Persia, according to the prophecy in Daniel 2:38, 39. My discernment is that when silver reaches $50/oz, it will mean that the arms of silver (Persia, or Cyrus, the Messiah) has overthrown the head of gold (Babylon). The number 50, of course is a Jubilee number, representing the cancellation of all debt by which Mystery Babylon rules the nations today.

The prophecy of Bob Jones in 1989 linked the great earthquake in Japan to the economic meltdown. I interpreted this to mean that the earthquake would signal the collapse of Babylon. So when the price of silver began to rise dramatically after the earthquake, it looked like we would shortly see the collapse of Mystery Babylon in 2011.

But then on Monday, April 25, 2011 the Chicago Mercantile Exchange raised its margin requirements on silver contracts, which limited the purchases of silver, and the price was slammed down. Traders could sell without restriction but their purchases were limited. These requirements were increased further on April 27.

This was a blatant move which openly revealed that the markets were manipulated (“managed”) and that we no longer had a free enterprise system. Nonetheless, it also showed that Babylon was existing on borrowed time. If it were not for artificial manipulation, the head of gold would fall.

Failed Prophecies of Harold Camping

A long-time evangelist and radio broadcaster, Harold Camping, believed in Darby’s rapture theory that was developed in the 1850’s. He was known best for his failed predictions about the second coming of Christ. In 2011 his failures finally caught up to him once and for all, and he found himself fully discredited in the eyes of the people when Christ did not come, and Judgment Day did not arrive on schedule.

The Wikipedia has this to say about him:

Camping first predicted that the Judgment Day would occur on or about September 6, 1994. When it failed to occur, he revised the date to September 29 and then to October 2. In 2005, Camping predicted the Second Coming of Christ to May 21, 2011, whereupon the saved would be taken up to heaven in the rapture, and that "there would follow five months of fire, brimstone, and plagues on Earth, with millions of people dying each day, culminating on October 21, 2011, with the final destruction of the world."

His prediction for May 21, 2011 was widely reported, in part because of a large-scale publicity campaign by Family Radio, and it prompted ridicule from atheist organizations and rebuttals from Christian organizations. After May 21 passed without the predicted events, Camping said he believed that a "spiritual" judgment had occurred on that date, and that the physical Rapture would occur on October 21, 2011, simultaneously with the final destruction of the universe by God. Except for one press appearance on May 23, 2011, Camping largely avoided press interviews after May 21, particularly after he suffered a stroke in June 2011. After October 21, 2011 passed without the predicted apocalypse, the mainstream media labeled Camping a false prophet and commented that his ministry would collapse after the "failed 'Doomsday' prediction".

There is often a grain of truth even in such false predictions. Few people are totally wrong. But when people’s prophecies are based on false assumptions—in this case, the rapture theory—their discernment must also be warped to some degree.

I have already shown how the year 2011 was important in regard to the quake in Japan and the resulting tsunami. I have also shown how the arms of silver nearly overthrew the head of gold on April 25, 2011. We might say that the potential existed for the overthrow of Babylon in 2011. Yet it proved to be too soon.

It appears that Harold Camping had indeed discerned something significant about 2011, but he tried to understand his revelation through incorrect end-time theories. Further, he did not really understand how things tend to be delayed to the appointed time. We ourselves were watchful to see what God would do in 2011—without trying to predict exactly how our watch dates would be fulfilled. So when we saw delays, we knew that there was more revelation that was yet hidden to us. Camping, however, was unable to survive the delays, because he had committed himself so fully to his view of prophecy.

Whereas we saw the quakes in Christchurch as signs of divine judgment upon the church, Camping’s view was that the church would escape judgment in a “rapture.” Ironically, Camping suffered a stroke on June 9, 2011, a few weeks after his May 21 prediction failed to materialize.

Strangely enough, June 9, 2011 fell on a Thursday and was thus linked to John Hinkle’s prophecy in 1994, “On Thursday, June 9, I will rip the evil out of this world.”

June 9, 1994 fell on a Thursday, but nothing happened. June 9, 2011 also fell on a Thursday, and it was the date of Harold Camping’s stroke, which effectively took him out of his ministry world. A few days later, on June 13, 2011, Christchurch was struck by a new earthquake registering 6.3 on the Richter scale.

The Apostolic Calling Delayed

In March of 2001, we held a prayer campaign called “He is Building Effective Apostleship.” Ten years later our daughter and her husband asked us to go with them (on vacation) to the Apostle Islands in northern Wisconsin (Lake Superior). We accompanied them to the islands on June 20-22, 2011.

It appeared to me that whatever God had ordained in 2001 was going to come to pass in 2011. On June 20 we reserved a place on a cruise among the Apostle Islands for the following day. However, the cruise was cancelled, due to high winds. We rescheduled the cruise for the next day, June 22, but the winds had not abated, and so the cruise was again cancelled.

We understood from this that once again there was a delay in the promise of God. I wrote a report about this, entitled, “A delay in sending out the apostles.”

The Apostle Islands had gale-force winds with a lot of rain, so the tour was cancelled both Tuesday and Wednesday. We did have opportunity to go to the largest and closest of the islands (Madeline Island) for a few hours before they shut down even that short ferry after 2 p.m.

In inquiring about the meaning of this, the Lord said, “The starting time of the Effective Apostleship has been delayed.” I asked if he meant this was “postponed,” but he said “No, it has been delayed due to opposition.”

I am not sure what that means, or where the opposition is coming from. I asked if there was something we should do about it, such as spiritual warfare. He said, “The angels of the overcomers are already engaged in spiritual warfare in regard to this matter. There is nothing more to do” (at least for now).

Later we understood that the delays occurred because the time allotted to the “beast” nations would not end until October 12, 2017. The year 2011 was still six years early. Hence, while there was a potential for Babylon to fall in 2011, God was merely giving us an early signal to draw our attention to these important themes.

We often see apparent delays in Scripture, and sometimes no real explanation is given. Thus, Samuel’s arrival was delayed when he was supposed to make a sacrifice before a battle against the Philistines. We read in 1 Samuel 13:8-10,

⁸ Now he [Saul] waited seven days, according to the appointed time set by Samuel, but Samuel did not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattering from him. ⁹ So Saul said, “Bring to me the burnt offering and the peace offerings.” And he offered the burnt offering. ¹⁰ As soon as he finished offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him and to greet him.

In this case, it appears that the delay was designed to test the faith of both Saul and the people. Saul failed the test, which meant that his dynasty would not endure (1 Samuel 13:13, 14).

Again, in regard to the second coming of Christ, we read of the servant who said in Luke 12:45 KJV, “My lord delayeth his coming.” The same is suggested in Jesus’ parable of the Ten Virgins, who fell asleep while the Bridegroom’s arrival was delayed (Matthew 25:5).

Such delays are not really delays at all, except insofar as our own expectations are concerned. God often causes us to expect something that is too early. The delays are usually designed to test our faith and to cause us to inquire again to get more revelation. In the end, God delays events to His appointed time, which was previously hidden from us.

The lesson here is that we ought not to complain about the delays but to seek the mind of Christ, so that we can receive further revelation. Meanwhile, our faith is tested to see if we are qualified as overcomers to rule in His Kingdom, or if we fail as Saul did. We need to learn how to handle delays.

Hence, the rise of the saints from 2010-2017 included some tests of faith to distinguish the faithful from the unfaithful, the Saul company from the David/Joseph/Elisha company, and the unprepared virgins from those who were prepared.
