As we approached the season of Passover in April 2017, we were led to hold a Divine Court session called Let My People Go, based on Exodus 5:1. Pharaoh, of course, replied, “I do not know [recognize] the Lord, and besides, I will not let Israel go” (Exodus 5:2). We won our case, of course, but modern Pharaoh again refused to let us go, thus fulfilling the prophecy in Jeremiah 50:33, “They have refused to let them go.”
This court case set the stage for Babylon’s refusal to let the people go when its time to rule expired six months later on October 12, 2017. And once again, the refusal to comply with the ruling in the Divine Court meant that there would be a delay in implementing this Jubilee. A time of enforcement would be necessary, as we saw with the Egyptian Pharaoh.
The biblical story was repeated in our time in a modern context, which requires some background information.
Dividing the Land
The Divine Court case was held on April 9, 2017, which was the end of the second 76-day cycle of cleansing for that year. By Hebrew time, it was Nisan 13, just before the Passover lambs would have been killed in Old Testament times. A few days earlier, on Nisan 10, was the day of the selection of the lambs. A group of Jews sacrificed a lamb within the city walls for the first time since 70 A.D. It was a direct affront to the true Lamb of God whose blood alone is sufficient for sin. Yet many Christians applauded it, believing that such sacrifices will soon be reinstated for the age to come.
2017 happened to be 70 years since the Palestinian Resolution, when the United Nations divided the land (November 29, 1947) in favor of Edom. Joel 3:2 prophesied this without explanation, but this sin is explained in greater detail in Ezekiel 35:10, 15 in a prophecy of Mount Seir, which was the inheritance of Esau-Edom. God condemns Edom, saying,
10 Because you have said, “These two nations [Israel and Judah] and these two lands will be mine, and we will possess them,” although the Lord was there… 15 As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will do to you. You will be a desolation, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
When Israel was exiled to Assyria, the Edomites rejoiced. They seized the opportunity to regain the birthright, which they believed rightfully belonged to them (Esau). This was repeated in 1947-1948 when the United Nations divided Palestine between the Edomites and the native Palestinians, creating a conflict that continues to this day.
The Zionist aspirations of Edom are seen in Malachi 1:4,
4 Though Edom says, “We have been beaten down, but we will return and build up the ruins,” thus says the Lord of hosts, “They may build [“shall build,” KJV], but I will tear down; and men will call them the wicked territory and the people toward whom the Lord is indignant forever.”
Unfortunately, many Christians do not know the history of Edom and how it was conquered and absorbed into Judea in 126 B.C. Hence, they do not understand that the Jews today have two sets of prophecies to fulfill—Edom and Judah. Because the law does not allow the people of Judah to return to the land prior to repenting from their hostility to Jesus Christ (Leviticus 26:40, 41, 42), the Israeli state was formed under the spiritual authority of Edom, not Judah.
Most Christians are unaware that the Edomites always coveted the land of Israel and Judah. The modern Zionist movement is a fleshly, Edomite movement disguised as the fulfillment of the prophecies given to Israel. One cannot understand the modern fulfillment of prophecy without knowing the history and prophecies about Esau-Edom.
A full account of Edom’s history can be found in my book, The Struggle for the Birthright.
Because Jacob stole the birthright from his brother Esau by deception (Genesis 27:22-24) and by taking advantage of Isaac’s blindness, Jacob eventually would have to give it back to Esau so that Esau could have time to prove himself to be unworthy. In 1947-1948 this happened, and so 70 years had passed in 2017. When the Jews sacrificed the lamb in Jerusalem on April 6, 2017, their act of hostility against Jesus Christ proved that they were unworthy of the birthright.
Simply put, God did not accept their sacrifice.
To be worthy of the birthright requires becoming the sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ. One must have the faith of Abraham and be born through Sarah, the New Covenant. One must support the New Jerusalem, not the earthly city. One must be led by the Spirit, not the flesh. The Jews who sacrificed a lamb in Jerusalem disqualified themselves and all their brethren who believe as they do.
Further, the idea that carnal men who reject Jesus Christ are “chosen” is totally contrary to what Christ and the apostles taught. No one who rejects Christ is chosen. Paul tells us clearly in Romans 11:7 that the “remnant” of grace is chosen, and the rest are blinded. It is clear that one’s genealogy is not a factor in this, otherwise all the Israelites would have been chosen and none of them would have been blind. Yet only 7,000 were chosen out of all Israel.
Just as the carnal United Nations divided up the land for the benefit of the Edomites in 1947, so also have Christians helped rebuild the dividing wall that Jesus tore down (Ephesians 2:14). That dividing wall in the outer court of the temple separated Jewish men from Jewish women along with all gentile converts. Paul fought hard to establish a single body (“one new man,” Ephesians 2:15) by the law of our impartial God. Those who elevate Jews over non-Jews today have divided God’s land, which is our body.
The Ultimatum to Pharaoh
Our prayer in the Divine Court Case on April 9, 2017 was as follows:
Father, we come before your divine court in the name of Jesus and under His blood. Thank you for Your word and promises toward us. Thank you for transferring the authority of the Dominion Mandate to the saints of the Most High.
Father, you said in Your word to Pharaoh in Exodus 4:22, 23,
22 Then you shall say to Pharaoh, “Thus says the Lord, Israel is My first-born. 23 So I said to you, Let My son go, that he may serve Me; but you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your son, your first-born.”
You said again in Your word to Babylon in Jeremiah 50:33-35,
33 Thus says the Lord of hosts, “The sons of Israel are oppressed, and the sons of Judah as well; and all who took them captive have held them fast; they have refused to let them go. 34 Their Redeemer is strong, the Lord of hosts is His name; He will vigorously plead their case, so that He may bring rest to the earth, but turmoil to the inhabitants of Babylon, 35 a sword against the Chaldeans,” declares the Lord, “and against the inhabitants of Babylon, and against her officials and her wise men.”
Father, we believe Your word and agree with it. We know that the time has come for Your word to be fulfilled. So in Your name, we decree this on Your behalf toward those rulers of Babylon who have refused to release the people at the appointed time:
“Rulers of Babylon, hear the word of the Creator of heaven and earth, the King of all nations, whom you are bound to serve and obey: Because you have not fulfilled the responsibility of the Dominion Mandate and have not brought forth the fruit of the Kingdom that God requires, you are hereby weighed in the balances and are found wanting. The God of heaven has foreclosed upon your debt to His law.
“Release God’s people immediately. Release them in accordance with the divine law. You will provide liberally from the wealth that you have gained by their slave labor over the centuries. If you do not release His sons, God Himself will be their Redeemer and will bring judgment upon your sons. He will break your power and cast you into the Sea of Red Ink.
“The Stone of Christ’s Kingdom is arising even now to crush your feet and to grind the entire image into dust. The Kingdom of God will arise until it fills the whole earth with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.”
Thank you, heavenly Father for redeeming Your sons by Your great power and love.
The Final Verdict
My wife and I were out of town from April 18-24, 2017, having traveled to Arkansas to attend our graddaughter’s wedding in Jonesboro. On the way we visited James and Bobbie, who are long-time friends living just outside of Batesville, Arkansas. We had known them and worked closely with them during the 1980’s when we lived in that area. In fact, I performed their wedding ceremony on November 13, 1985.
Unknown to us, James and Bobbie had asked someone to make a special staff to give to us, and they gave it to us on April 19. On the staff was carved, “Romans 5:8.” The verse reads,
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
This love is the foundation of the salvation of all men which Paul taught in the latter half of the same chapter. The staff, then, was a sign of the birthright. It was carved with leaves (ivy) for the healing of the nations (Revelation 22:2). In my view, giving me this staff by the leading of the Spirit signified that the birthright was being given to us and taken away from Edom.
All of these events in April 2017 laid the foundations for what was to occur six months later when the transfer of authority was complete. The disqualification of Esau-Edom and the qualification of the saints of the Most High was established in the Divine Court case in April, but these things would not take effect until October 12, 2017.
