The world seems to be moving toward a climactic crisis on August 22-24, 2023, which is the time that the BRICS are scheduled to meet in South Africa. They are expected to announce their new currency that is designed to replace the US dollar in international trade amongst themselves.

It will take time to implement, and, like most things, it will develop and evolve. The first phase, which has already begun, is to start trading in local currencies, rather than the dollar. Phase two will involve the new BRICS currency that will be backed by a basket of currencies along with gold. This was how the euro was formed more than 20 years ago, except that the euro did not include gold.

On June 14, Kenya’s President Ruto received a standing ovation when he talked about using local currencies for international trade.

Not long ago, this would have invited a US military invasion or a political coup. But since the US debacle in Afghanistan two years ago, more and more countries no longer fear the US military and are leaving US hegemony. This does not mean that they are wanting to switch to China’s hegemony; instead, they are seeing this as an opportunity to regain independence.

African Peace Delegation

The African peace delegation to Russia seemed to be surprised and shocked to discover that Russia and Ukraine had signed a peace accord in March of 2022—but that the US and UK had pressured Ukraine to scrap the agreement. Putin produced the signed document and showed it to the African delegates as proof that the West will not tolerate peace. So Ukraine continues to disintegrate.

The South African delegation made a stop in Poland on the way to Moscow. The Poles held up the plane for day and would not even allow the president to leave the plane. It seems they think that by punishing the South Africans, they will somehow bludgeon them into submission. Instead, they just made more enemies. The Polish government is not very good at diplomacy.

Ukraine’s Military Offensive

Ukraine used to have a population of about 40 million. Now they are down to 18-20 million. Many have been killed in battle, but most of the population has fled into Europe and will probably never return. A hundred thousand children are missing and most of them probably have been kidnapped by child traffickers taking advantage of the situation.

Ukraine’s offensive that was launched on June 4 has so far produced no significant gains in territory. They had talked about a two-week offensive and swimming in the Crimea, but they have managed to take only a few long-abandoned hamlets along the battle lines. In other places, they have lost territory. Yet most importantly, about a third of their tanks and armored vehicles, given to them by the West, have been destroyed in the last few weeks, along with about 15,000 of their troops.

So far, the Ukrainian army has only been fighting in the Russian “security zone,” which is many miles from the Russia’s main defensive positions. If they are having such difficulty fighting in the security zone, how could they ever hope to overrun even the first Russian line of defense? Or the second? Or the third line of defense?

Ukraine’s air force is almost non-existent. They have no air defense. Russia controls the skies. Without an air force, it is very difficult to protect one’s tanks in a ground offensive.

Going Nuclear?

Remember how the US/UK blew up the gas pipeline to Germany last September? They tried to blame Russia for blowing up its own pipeline—when, in fact, if Russia wanted to cut off gas supplies to Germany, they could have just turned the valve and shut it down. Seymour Hersh exposed the western plot, forcing the west to try a new narrative. They eventually blamed it on Ukraine and claimed they knew nothing about it.

Likewise, they have tried to blame Russia for shelling the big nuclear power plant along the Dnieper River, as if Russia would destroy its own nuclear power plant.

This past week Russia arrested five men trying to buy and smuggle nuclear material to release in Moscow. No doubt, if this plot had succeeded, they would have blamed Putin for this, too.

Ukraine wants desperately to turn this into a nuclear confrontation, because it knows that this would draw NATO into a full-scale conflict with Russia. So far, they have succeeded only in using shells made from “depleted uranium.” The word “depleted” does not mean that the uranium has ceased to be radioactive. It means that it is no longer capable of producing electricity in a nuclear power plant. The problem is that it is still radioactive and capable of causing a huge rise in cancer rates—as seen in Iraq.

Blinken, Biden, and China

China has been refusing to communicate with Biden and white house officials ever since Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan last year.

Recall that in the 1970’s, US president Nixon made an agreement with China, beginning an era of China’s industrialization. Many US companies were encouraged to move to China, expecting to gain a host of new customers. China was also promised that they would lead the world in the 21^st century, as the Deep State greatly admired China’s ability to control its people and intended to use the China model for the West as well.

US Secretary of State Blinken was finally able to get an invitation to visit China, where he was lectured more than once about the contradictions in US foreign policy. The US claims to have a “one China” policy on its official website, but in practice, they act quite differently.

As a result, Blinken made a public statement reaffirming the “one China” policy. This satisfied President Xi Jinping, and it appeared that friendly relations might again be restored. But shortly after Blinken returned to the US, Biden destroyed any remaining goodwill by calling President Xi a “dictator.” Worse yet, he humiliated Xi by claiming he was ignorant about the so-called “spy balloon” that the US shot down a few months ago. Such insulting language has only made US-China relations worse than ever.

Prophecy

The China problem began 50 years ago under President Nixon. Once western companies got wind of the plan to shift the political center of gravity to China, they began moving into China. I understood this as early as the 1980’s.

Then in November 1993, we held our Jubilee Prayer Campaign and understood that we would see a sign of Babylon’s fall a year later (November 29, 1994). The sign was based on Daniel 4:29. (See Chapter 12 of The Wars of the Lord.)

The sign proved to be when the US House of Representatives passed the GATT Treaty, which was the precursor to the World Trade Organization, allowing China to be a member. This opened up trade with China, beginning the greatest transfer of wealth from West to East. I knew then that this was the key to the overthrow of Mystery Babylon. In fact, this was designed to enrich China so that it could lead the world in the 21^st century.

Now in 2023 we can better see the results of this. The Deep State plan to make China the unipolar power is finding a lot of resistance in the US. But their objections are too little, too late. They should have foreseen this thirty years ago—or even fifty years ago. It is nearly impossible to put the brakes on this policy so late in the game.

From my perspective, God has used this for His own purpose—to overthrow Mystery Babylon, which is centered in the West. China is one of the kings from the east, whose rise is caused by angelic decree (Revelation 16:12). It is difficult to predict the process by which this will happen, but we know God’s purpose, and we know the end of the story.

We now seem to be reaching the climax of the age, where things can get a bit scary. This is why we need to have an experiential faith in Christ, and it is very helpful to know the divine plan in prophecy. The church has largely misunderstood prophecy, so few are prepared for the days ahead. They look for the rise of Babylon in the future. We look for its end. They look for the rise of Antichrist. We look for his overthrow. They look for an Antichrist kingdom. We look for the Kingdom of God. They hope to escape in a great rescue operation which they call “the rapture.” We expect to overcome and to rule the earth.
