The night that Babylon fell, a prophetic revelation from the hand of God was written on the wall of the palace. We read in Daniel 5:24-28,
24 Then the hand was sent from Him, and this inscription was written out. 25 Now this is the inscription that was written out: “MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.” 26 This is the interpretation of the message: “MENE”—God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it. 27 “TEKEL”—you have been weighed on the scales and found deficient. 28 “PERES”—your kingdom has been divided and given over to the Medes and Persians.
The words are bankruptcy proceedings:
MENE: “numbered,” which means that Babylon had been audited by the divine court.
TEKEL: “weighed on the scales,” which means God had found Babylon’s credits to be deficient to cover its debts, and that the nation was bankrupt.
U PHARSIN (plural of PERES): “divided,” which means God had sold Babylon on the auction block to the Medes and Persians.
All of these words, of course, were Aramaic, the language of Babylon. PERES (or peras) means literally “to divide in two.” It also means “half-mina.”

Daniel interprets this to mean that Babylon had been sold in two halves, the one going to the Medes and the other to the Persians. The name of Persia had also been derived from the Aramaic word peras, because it was named after Perseus, “the breaker.” Micah 2:13 prophesies of Israel’s deliverance from captivity, saying, “The breaker [Heb., peretz] goes up before them… So the king goes on before them, and the Lord at their head.”
Perseus was the constellation picturing the deliverance of Andromeda, the Chained Woman, when he killed Cetus, the sea monster. In the original Star Gospel, God named the stars and constellations to prophesy of Christ’s coming to deliver His Bride from the power of death (Cetus, the “whale” that swallowed Jonah).
Persia was named after Perseus, and even the name of Andromeda (Greek: AndroMEDE) may suggest the involvement of the Medes. At any rate, the kingdom of Babylon was divided among the Medes and Persians. By extension, Belshazzar represented Cetus, the sea monster, which Perseus slew in order to deliver Andromeda.
If we translate the handwriting on the wall from Aramaic into Hebrew, we find that they are monetary terms. The Aramaic mene is the Hebrew mina. The Aramaic tekel is the Hebrew shekel. The Aramaic peras, or Upharsin, is the Hebrew peretz, or half-mina. The lowest common denominator is the gerah—sort of like our penny.
When we add these together, we begin to see the hidden long-term prophecy in these words.
MINA = 1,000 gerahs
MINA = 1,000 gerahs
SHEKEL = 20 gerahs (Exodus 30:13)
PERES = 500 gerahs [half-mina]
Total: 2,520 gerahs
The total number of gerahs in the handwriting on the wall is 2,520, and this is the key revelation by which we may understand the fall of Mystery Babylon in our own time.
Recall that the Dominion Mandate was given into the hands of various nations, beginning with Babylon in 607-604 B.C. Babylon’s time to hold the Dominion Mandate was quite short, lasting only 70 years, as Jeremiah prophesied. Jeremiah’s revelation was limited to Babylon, but Daniel was given further revelation to show that the Dominion Mandate would remain in the hands of other nations for 2,520 years.
When Moses' tabernacle was dedicated in Numbers 7, it took 12 days because the prince of each tribe was given a day in which to participate in the dedication. Each prince offered the same offering. Numbers 7:13, 14 reads,
12 Now the one who presented his offering on the first day was Nahshon the son of Aminadab, of the tribe of Judah, 13 and his offering was one silver dish whose weight was one hundred and thirty shekels, one silver bowl of seventy shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary… 14 one gold pan of ten shekels, full of incense.
Adding these together, the total weight is 210 shekels for each tribe. The rest of Numbers 7 tells us how twelve princes of the tribes each offered the same three temple vessels.
The Grand Total: 210 x 12 = 2,520 shekels
I believe that this prophesied of a 2,520 year time period in which God would dedicate His True Temple.
The second temple was built from 520-515 B.C. in the time of the prophet Haggai. Haggai 1:1 says that the work began in the second year of Persian King Darius “The Great,” who ruled from 521-486 B.C.) We had discerned back in the mid-1990’s that Haggai's prophecy actually applied 2,520 years later (2001 to March 15, 2006).
The second temple itself was merely a type and shadow of the true spiritual Temple which was to be made from “living stones” (1 Peter 2:5). This Temple could not be built in the same location as the original, not only because it was spiritual but also because the mount in Jerusalem had been placed under the Ichabod curse (1 Samuel 4:21, 22; Jeremiah 7:14; 26:6). Thus we see that the glory did not return to that location when the second temple was completed, nor did it return to that temple on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2.
Nonetheless, the second temple was a prophetic type. Haggai speaks of its construction at the word of the Lord, but nothing is said about the dedication of the temple vessels. The construction was completed on March 15, 515 B.C. (on our present calendar). Ezra 6:15 tells us,
15 This temple was completed on the third day of the month Adar [March 15]; it was the sixth year [515 B.C.] of the reign of King Darius.
The temple was completed in March and then dedicated six months later at the feast of Tabernacles. So we read in Haggai 2:1, 3, 9,
1 On the twenty-first of the seventh month [7th day of Tabernacles], the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet saying… 3 “Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Does it not seem to you like nothing in comparison?... 9 The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,” says the Lord of hosts, “and in this place I will give peace,” declares the Lord of hosts.
No doubt Haggai was dealing with the possibility that the glory of God might fill that temple the next morning, even as the glory had filled Solomon’s temple on the 8th day of Tabernacles.
In my view, the actual dedication of the temple vessels was to take place over a period of 2,520 years, or “seven times.” This had two main starting points, dating Haggai’s Temple project:
520 B.C. to 2001 = 2,520 years.
515 B.C. to 2006 = 2,520 years.
The year 2001, of course, saw the demolition of the Twin Towers, which released the second “bear” of my 1986 vision and marked the end of God’s protective hand over America. Recall that September 11, 2001 also marked the end of America’s three years of grace which we received when President Bill Clinton (“Ahab”) humbled himself at the White House prayer breakfast on September 11, 1998, following the pattern of King Ahab. (See 1 Kings 21:29 and 22:1.)
On March 15, 2006 we saw the prophetic completion of the true Temple that God is building--the corporate Temple built upon the foundation of the prophets and apostles (Ephesians 2:20-22).
That completion date then began the time of construction of the VESSELS of the Temple, representing the various callings that we are given in the body. I believe that this construction project was completed in 2017, a century after the events of 1917, and that these vessels (overcomers) were then dedicated to God at the feast of Tabernacles (2017). The Kingdom then entered a new phase, as these overcomers were given the dominion mandate according to the prophecy in Daniel 7:27,
27 Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey Him.
