On August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, located on the southern coast of the United States in the State of Louisiana. After the winds passed, the levee broke in two places, and 80 percent of the city flooded. The city is built below sea level and is kept dry only by this levee. As the water rose, many people did not leave their houses, but went up into their attics, but the water continued to rise as much as 20 feet. As the magnitude of this disaster became apparent, the mayor of the city suggested that thousands may be dead in their attics.
It will take weeks to plug the leak and longer to pump out the water. By this time, most of the flooded houses will have to be demolished. By this time, most of the citizens will be relocated, putting their children in other schools. They will find jobs elsewhere, because there are none in New Orleans. The city will be rebuilt slowly around the oil and shipping industries. But most will never return.
In the weeks ahead we will learn the actual death tolls from government officials. The news media will tell us the story of Katrina. The weather men will tell us how nature forms hurricanes. But it is for us to search the mind of God and see His purpose in this.
Katrina and the Gaza Evacuation
Christian Zionist prophecy buffs are already suggesting a link between the hurricane and America’s support for the recent Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. They say that God is judging us by making refugees out of Americans, even as we supported the policy that made Israeli residents of Gaza refugees. They cite Gen. 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.”
This assumes, first of all, that the Jews are Israel. They are not. They are ex-Judahites who were “cut off from among their people” because they violated the biblical law of sacrifice found in Lev. 17:1-9. They also conspired to kill the King of Judah (Jesus Christ) and seize His inheritance (Matt. 21:38). Jesus’ judgment is in verse 43,
43 Therefore say I unto you, the kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
If a Jew wants to rejoin the tribe of Judah, he must accept Judah’s King—Jesus Christ. There is no other way to be a Jew—that is, a Judahite (Rom. 2:28, 29). Being physically circumcised “just won’t cut it,” as we say. No one will be given the Kingdom unless they bring forth the fruits of the Kingdom—that is, the fruit of the Spirit. And John 14:6 and Acts 4:12 says that no one can come to the Father apart from Jesus Christ.
Thus, if there is a connection between Katrina and the Gaza Strip, it is because for the past 60 years America has supported Jewish usurpers as they stole Palestinian land and made refugees out of millions of Palestinians.
While the news media was focusing on the evacuation of Gaza, Sharon was busy grabbing 67 square kilometers of Palestinian land east of Jerusalem. It is the largest settlement expansion plan they have ever done. It is an area larger than the entire area of the Gaza Strip, and it nearly divides the north from the south in the East Bank. Tens of thousands of Palestinians will have to relocate, because the area will be enclosed within the Great Wall. You know—the Wall that proves that the Israeli state is NOT the Israel prophesied in Ezekiel 38:11.
The Palestinian towns of Anata, Hizma, Attour, al-Aizariyyah, Abu Dis, and al-Eisawiyyah will all be evacuated, and their houses demolished to make way for new Israeli houses. The land grab also appropriates 250 wells, plus olive groves and pasture land.
News commentator, Bill Koenig, wrote an article denouncing the Gaza withdrawal. It is entitled, “Eye to Eye—Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel.” I take issue with his view. I think we should see the dire consequences of supporting the Israelis as they steal and divide the Palestinians’ land in the West Bank.
So if Katrina was God’s way of judging us for our Israeli policy, it is because we allow Ariel Sharon to steal more land and create tens of thousands of Palestinian refugees. It is because we have refused to be a blessing to all families of the earth, as Gen. 12:3 says of Abraham. Chuck Pierce’s Prophecy: August 29, 2004
I have often said that people should date any word from God that they are given, because the date of a revelation always has something to do with its fulfillment. Many times I have seen His word fulfilled on the same date in a later year. And so when I saw Chuck Pierce’s prophecy about Katrina given precisely one year before the hurricane hit New Orleans, I knew that this was the true interpretation and meaning of the prophecy. The full prophecy can be viewed at:
After Chuck discussed traveling from Wisconsin directly to Louisiana, he prophesied:
"From the North to the South I am ready to awaken two winds that will awake the nation. There are resisting forces in both states that will cause our nation to not move forward. Go up and down and decree the wind of God will awaken in both places. The states will shift in a new way or the nation will not shift and will go backwards."
”Later when addressing the Saul structure in Baton Rouge, Chuck prophesied:
"How the Saul structure collapses will bring Baton Rouge again to national attention. That alignment within it will collapse. A new demonstration with a new blueprint will be seen. This will be known as a meeting house. This will be known as a place where the Ark of the Covenant has dwelt. This will be known as a refuge place. The WIND and WATER will rise in the midst of New Orleans. Many from the south will come north for refuge. Prepare. Prepare now for winds and water that will surprise you. I will renew the pattern not fully seen before. Worship will be here, and birthed in a new way from here. Prepare! Prepare! Prepare! Shift! Saul will be no more. David will arise from this day forward.
The wind from the south will begin to blow. Watch for the effects. This will purify the land and bring great change."
“Then in Alexandria that night Chuck shared from Song of Solomon 4:16 (Awake the north wind; come, o south wind. Blow upon the garden of this nation). He led the people to pray for the south wind to come. This south wind would be a purifying wind, cause corruption to be blown on and cause corruption to shake and initiate a righteous move starting with the children, then moving to the youth. We were to watch the government and the Catholic Church shake, and watch New Orleans change.
“Then Chuck prophesied,
"I will put a mantle on African Americans in this land. That which was brought in through parts of this state and held people captive will let go. I will send the wind up the Mississippi River and this wind will shake Missouri. You will see the land shake in Missouri because of the wind from Louisiana. . .Get ready, for the new is coming. Every place I blow on will shake. The wind is coming on Louisiana and it will shake the entire state. I will fill churches. The south purifying wind of My holiness will sweep across Louisiana. People will be on their faces in malls and shopping centers. Boldness will come upon My people in Louisiana. There is a worship call. Get ready - the wind is about to blow. The river is changing courses. You will be one of the first that changes."
Judgment upon Witchcraft
Katrina means PURE. It is “the south purifying wind” that God sent up the Mississippi and put New Orleans under water. New Orleans was one of the main cities known for its slave trade. To be “sold down the river” is an American idiom, referring to the worst thing that an African slave could think of—being sold to New Orleans down the Mississippi River.
Until Katrina destroyed the city, it was scheduled to host a festival over Labor Day called Southern Decadence, advertised as a Mardi Gras party for gays and lesbians. It is a time of absolute moral decadence, with nakedness and open sex in the streets. The 34th party was scheduled for Aug. 31 to Sept. 5. God cancelled the event, and Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco (“Pure White”) ordered the city to be evacuated.
Last October, the fifth bowl was poured out upon “the seat of the beast” (Rev. 16:10) in Washington D.C., as I explained in my recent series on the book of Revelation. I explained that this signified judgment upon witchcraft and sorcery (pharmakeia). We also knew that we would see signs of this judgment during the coming year leading to the Feast of Tabernacles in 2005.
New Orleans has long had a reputation for witchcraft and voodoo. It is the witchcraft center for America, and Mobile, Alabama is not far behind in its reputation. Thus, it is not surprising to see New Orleans destroyed just a few weeks prior to the Feast of Tabernacles. The French city of Orleans is where Joan of Arc came from. She was burned at the stake on a charge of witchcraft. Whether she really was a witch or not, New Orleans was indeed guilty, and everyone knew it. In fact, the city was proud of it.
So Hurricane Katrina is to be viewed as the beginning of God’s judgment against the spirit of witchcraft in America. Its purpose is to “cause corruption to shake.”
The economic loss, of course, will affect the entire nation. But this is only the beginning, for God intends to wreck the Babylonian system and force us to leave Iraq and Afghanistan. We simply will not have the cash to burden ourselves with defending the Israelis from Iran or Iraq or any other hostile enemy.
Another Wind Coming
Notice Chuck Pierce’s prophecy says that there are not one but “two winds that will awake the nation.” One is from the north, the other from the south. We have now seen the south wind in Katrina. I believe we will see a great north wind blow this winter that will hit Wisconsin and other states, including Minnesota. (Note that Chuck received this word after driving south from Wisconsin.)
Watch Halloween this year. It is the high holy day in witchcraft. Perhaps God will shut down Halloween with a blizzard like He shut down the Southern Decadence party.
If this north wind is anywhere near comparable to the south wind called Katrina, we could expect to see power outages in the midst of extreme cold. The inundation of water from a north wind will take the form of snow and ice. Is it possible that a city in Wisconsin will become like New Orleans by a flood of snow? That seems incredible.
The word is: “Prepare. Prepare now for winds and water that will surprise you.” Ask yourself if you are prepared for such conditions. And pray about what to do. Act now so you are not taken by surprise. Watch weather reports carefully, and take them seriously.
A Great Earthquake
The prophecy also links Katrina with an earthquake in Missouri—that is, along the New Madrid fault.
“I will send the wind up the Mississippi River and this wind will shake Missouri. You will see the land shake in Missouri because of the wind from Louisiana. . . Every place I blow on will shake.”
There is no “scientific” connection between Katrina and an earthquake in Missouri. It is a spiritual connection. Katrina is the first of these judgments and is a warning sign of a quake yet to come. This will not be a little shaker. The New Madrid quakes in 1811-1812 are estimated to have been up to 8.1 Richter. These shook all the cities along the East Coast of America. According to Charlie Daniels, Commissioner of State Lands for Arkansas,
“If another quake of the magnitude of the New Madrid Quake of 1811 should hit the region, it would be the worst natural disaster in American history. Especially vulnerable are buildings of brick and concrete. Almost all of downtown Memphis would fall. The highways and interstate systems would be shattered and bridges destroyed. Massive gas line ruptures would threaten life and property. . .Overall the loss of life could run into the hundreds of thousands.”
Geologists say that this fault normally gives way about every 150 years. It has now been 193 years. It is way past overdue and has built up a tremendous amount of energy.
It seems to me that this quake will probably not occur this year (2005). It seems to me that it is better associated with the seventh bowl of Rev. 16:17-19,
17 And the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon the air; and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying, “It is done.” 18 And there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was a great earthquake, such as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. 19 And the great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of His fierce wrath.
The seventh bowl will be poured out in October 2006. So I do not think we will see this before next year. I also believe that in the old territory of Babylon, now known as Iraq, we will see that nation split into three parts: Kurds, Shiites, and Sunnis. At present they are trying to put together a Constitution to unite them, but I believe God will ultimately force us out of Iraq before they can be welded together, and they will divide into three parts.
This will be a sign of a greater earthquake destroying Mystery Babylon. And I believe that a New Madrid quake will be another great sign of the destruction of Babylon’s rule over America that began in 1914 when the Federal Reserve Act was signed into law in February of that year.
The Saul Church
One final part of Chuck’s prophecy has to do with “the Saul structure,” by which I understand he means the Church under Pentecost. (See my book, The Wheat and Asses of Pentecost.) He writes,
“How the Saul structure collapses will bring Baton Rouge again to national attention. . . Saul will be no more. David will arise from this day forward.
The article then stated, “We were to watch the government and the Catholic Church shake, and watch New Orleans change.”
New Orleans, of course, has been a major Catholic center since it was explored by the Spaniards and settled by the French. Thus, in some way not stated, there seems to be a connection between Katrina’s judgment upon New Orleans and God’s judgment upon the Vatican.
The primary pattern of King Saul in the Bible is found in the Roman popes, though it is by no means limited to them. Many Protestant and Pentecostal leaders love to follow the pattern of Saul’s rule as well. But Chuck’s prophecy tells us that this is about to end. “Saul will be no more.” This can only happen in the midst of a great purifying move of the Holy Spirit, where men once again proclaim their desire to be ruled by God, rather than by men. When this happens, it will reverse the curse placed upon God’s people in 1 Sam. 8:5 when they asked Samuel to give them a king. God responded to Samuel in verse 7,
7 . . . Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them.
Saul was the political pattern for the Church during the age of Pentecost, even as Eli was the priestly pattern. Saul was eventually replaced by David, a man after God’s own heart; and Eli’s priestly dynasty was ultimately replaced by that of Zadok (1 Kings 2:35). Zadok is a type and shadow of the Melchi-Zadok order, which replaced Levi under the New Covenant.
And so Chuck’s prophecy speaks of David replacing Saul. “David will arise from this day forward.” Even as Saul represents the Pentecostal order, so also does David represent those who fulfill the Feast of Tabernacles—that is, the overcomers as distinct from the rest of the Church. The full meaning of Chuck’s prophecy is not given, but it is possible that about the same time we may see the resurrection of the dead and the manifestation of the sons of God who are prefigured in David’s coronation.
The day will come when the sons of God will be manifested on the eighth day of Tabernacles and will then fully replace the current denominational order. As we said in our previous issue (FFI #206), these will be the true priests of God in the earth. They will replace the order of Levi in all of its modern forms.
It is only a matter of time before that happens. Watch the Vatican. God will replace the pope with a new order of Zadok priests. Yet even before the manifestation of the sons of God, this current pope may have to flee the Vatican for some reason—perhaps within two years.
The Good News
With all this “bad news” about hurricanes, quakes, and blizzards, keep in mind that from God’s long-term perspective, it is GOOD NEWS. These two winds are purifying winds, not destroying winds. God is in the process of setting America free from Babylon and from witchcraft. There will be a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit soon that will dwarf any previous revival. There will be signs and wonders of such magnitude that the people will demand that Jesus Christ be made King in America, and His law will become the law of the land.
Those who are led by the Spirit of God will be spared, unless it is simply their time to go. But they must do as they are led and not argue with Him. Some will be led to leave a danger area, while others will be led to stay in order to minister and witness to those who are caught in the judgment. God does indeed lead some of His people to remain in the danger zone in order to provide mercy and life for those who are caught unawares. It is important that all people be where He wants them to be. That is always the place of safety, even when in the midst of destruction.
Even so, preparation is the key. Physical preparation is important, of course, but spiritual preparation is even more important. Men fear the unknown. Fear is the opposite of faith. If you do not know that judgment is coming and do not prepare for it, and it catches you unawares, you will experience fear. But God has shown us ahead of time, so that we might prepare ourselves in faith. Then regardless of where we are, we will know that He is in control of all events, and that nothing happens outside of His plan.
The life of faith is possible only in knowing that He is sovereign in all things. It would be a scary world indeed if God were ever to lose control of history, or if man were really running the show and God were a mere bystander.
I believe we are coming into a final time of trouble before we break through into the glorious liberty of the sons of God. Do not be part of the problem. Be a beacon of light to all who see you. Let your light shine, and be a witness for the Kingdom of God that will inspire faith in the faithless and courage in the fearful.
