During my recent time of fasting and prayer (August 2-14), I had a growing awareness that I was preparing for a time of crisis that was coming shortly.
This crisis, I knew, would take many forms, and I had been given watch dates of August 15, September 2, 11, 15, 20-27, and September 28.
Haiti
As I was preparing to end my fast on the evening of August 14, Southwest Haiti was struck by a 7.2 Richter earthquake.

The history of Haiti is one tragedy after another. Most of its history has been marked by the dominance of Satanism and Voodoo. The people are used to hardship, but the church there can share only a few spiritual victories that have affected the nation as a whole. I pray that God will raise up spiritual leaders who have the ability to teach the people the laws of spiritual warfare so that they may change the heart of the nation itself.
In fact, we need more such teachers here in America, too. We are only able to reach a few people, mostly due to the church's rejection of the restoration of all things.
August 15 was the 50th anniversary of the day that President Nixon took us off the gold standard in 1971, marking the start of the fiat petro-dollar. That date put us deeper under the bondage of the Federal Reserve bankers, making it more difficult to buy or sell without having their “mark”—the Federal Reserve Note.
On the night of August 14, as I was ending my fast, I asked God a fairly routine question: “Do You have anything to say?” Most of my prayer time is spent in asking Him questions, but this time He had something specific to reveal. It was a Scripture: Galatians 4:29,
29 But as at that time, he who was born according to the flesh [Ishmael] persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also.
Afghanistan
I understood this Scripture to mean that we were entering a time of persecution from the children of the flesh. I did not know that the Taliban would take Kabul the following day. In fact, I had not followed the news from Afghanistan lately, as I was focusing upon my fast. So I did not realize that the Taliban had been taking city after city, province after province, for eleven days. Even the so-called “experts” were surprised that Kabul fell in a bloodless coup in a single day.
Afghanistan is a long distance from us, and many think it will hardly affect us. But it will. On a political level, it represents an American failure after a 20-year war. America overthrew the Taliban caliphate in December of 2001. They are now setting up the second caliphate.
This will be attributed to a weak Biden administration as well and will encourage all other enemies of America. Most people can hardly comprehend the full significance of this. It marks a huge shift in how nations perceive American power. America has not suffered such loss of prestige since the fall of Saigon.
I believe that the church in America will see persecution as well from the children of the flesh. We allowed fleshly people to rule us; so now we will taste our own cooking. We have already seen churches closed, using the coronavirus as an excuse. Singing has even been banned, using the mask mandates as an excuse. The government recently closed a Baptist church in Virginia, because it did not have a liquor license. (They only use grape juice in their communion.)
Not that any of these things are constitutional. But it takes time and money to overturn these things in a court of law. The government has unlimited funds, using the money of Christian taxpayers to pay for their own captivity. These Babylonians are out to destroy Christianity and will not be satisfied until all Christians are eradicated.
Yes, persecution is coming, because it has already been coming in recent years. The coronavirus is being used to accomplish this. It is a big tool in their arsenal.
No doubt people in other countries never hear about this persecution, because the mainstream media fails to report such things. They do not want to cause Christians everywhere to unite against them and their agenda. They are afraid of Christians. They certainly don’t want to wake up the sleeping giant!
The Awakening
But the giant is awakening. One of the great prophetic evangelists, Tommy Hicks, who was prominent in the great Argentine revival, saw this 60 years ago in a vision in 1961.

Likewise, the healing evangelist A. A. Allen had a related vision of the Statue of Liberty, representing America, on July 4, 1954. He saw this when he peered through a telescope on top of the Empire State Building. He wrote:
“And as I looked, suddenly from the sky I saw a giant hand reach down. That gigantic hand was reaching out toward the Statue of Liberty. In a moment her gleaming torch was torn from her hand, and in it instead was placed a cup. And I saw protruding from that great cup a giant sword, shining as if a great light had been turned upon its glistening edge. Never before had I seen such a sharp, glistening, dangerous sword. It seemed to threaten all the world. As the great cup was placed in the hand of the Statue of Liberty, I heard these words,
Thus saith the Lord of hosts, “Drink ye and be drunken, spue and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send.”
As I heard these words, I recognized them as a quotation from Jeremiah 25:27.
I was amazed to hear the Statue of Liberty speak out in reply, “I will not drink!” Then as the voice of the thunder, I heard again the voice of the Lord, saying, “Thus saith the Lord of Hosts, Ye shall certainly drink.” (Jeremiah 25:28). Then suddenly the giant hand forced the cup to the lips of the Statue of Liberty, and she became powerless to defend herself. The mighty Hand of God forced her to drink every drop from the cup. As she drank the bitter dregs, these were the words that I heard,
Should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of Hosts” (Jeremiah 25:29).
When the cup was withdrawn from the lips of the Statue of Liberty, I noticed the sword was missing from the cup, which could mean but one thing. The contents of the cup had been completely consumed! I knew that the sword merely typified war, death, and destruction, which is no doubt on the way.”

It appears that we are finally at the crisis point that these prophets saw decades ago. Because America and the world has drunk the wine of Babylon (i.e., false teachings and lawless ways), they are also liable to some extent for the sins of Babylon which caused God to force Babylon to drink the cup of judgment from the hand of God.
It should be made clear that this judgment is not directed against those who are faithful to Christ. It is directed against those who are ungodly and, to some extent, against the commercial church that has turned His temple into a den of robbers.
Most have reason to fear this judgment; we have reason to rejoice that the time has finally come when Christ is coming to take over the earth and to reclaim that which He has created. Those who fail to support Christ’s rights will be fearful, but we are not among them, for we recognize the right of Christ to establish His Kingdom and to rule it according to His just laws.
The church got too comfortable and prosperous living in Babylon. As we see with the Jews in the days of Ezra, most of them did not want to leave the comforts of home and go back to Jerusalem to rebuild their fallen kingdom. Only a remnant returned then, and only a remnant today has any interest in building God’s Kingdom. Most build their own kingdoms in Babylon and then pray that their work honors God.
Light is Coming
My recent fast has prepared me for what is coming. The biggest encouragement is in knowing that the light shines brightest where the darkness is greatest. Isaiah 60:1, 2, 3 says,
1 Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. 2 For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples, but the Lord will rise upon you, and His glory will appear upon you. 3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
In such times, the light that shines generally upon the whole earth seems to gather in clumps, so that it is bright in a few places and in a few people. The rest are left in darkness and fear. If they see some light in the distance, they are drawn to it and can thereby share in its blessing.
This is the light of Christ, the light of truth, seen in the remnant and heard in their words. God will always more than conquer the darkness with His light. As the darkness seems to get deeper, His light will grow stronger. In my own ministry and personal experience, I can already see how He is preparing the way to overcome the plans of the world. There are absolutely wonderful things that God is doing, though much of it is being done in private and in secret.
Yet the glory fire has already been lit, and it will never be extinguished.
